Abstract: The present invention is a crafting a control line airplanes using polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles, said airplane comprising of a fuselage (l) is the main body of the airplane, which .is made up of 12mm aluminium rod. A wing (2) connected in the top of the fuselage (] ). his attached with the help of a plurality bold and nut (8). A horizontal stabilizer (5%) is connected in tail portion of the fuselage (l) which is also attached with a plurality of nut and_ hold (7). A vertical stabiler (4) is fixed on the top of the elevator. A bellcrank mechanism (5) is fixed in the bottom of the wing which‘ also connected in one of the bold and nut (8). A plurality of metal wire line (9) is connected in the bellcrank to control [the pitch movement of the elevator. One end of a pushrod (6) is connected in the bellcrankmechanism (5) and another end is connected in a control horn (12). A bottle head (10) and a bottle cap (11) used as the motor mount to mount motor.
FIELD OF INVENTION
The present invention generally relates to the field of airplane, particularly to
airplanes from waste material. More particularly, the present invention is an airplane
built from Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) bottle.
PRIOR ART TO THE INVENTION
Patent document with application number - U820060089075, titled — “Simple home
made toy rockets and airplanes with launcher” discloses “A simple system to build
and launch home made toy rockets and airplanes using air pressure for launching,
and paper and Styrofoam for construction is described. The launch system consists of
plastic plumbing pipe and plastic beverage bottles. An impact from a foot or hand on
the plastic bottle launches the rocket or airplane. Various educational and
recreational uses of this building and launching system are also described”.
None of those mentioned above prior arts teaches nor‘discloses about an airplane
built from PET bottle,
wherein, the present invention is an airplane built from PET bottle.
OBJECTS OF INVENTION
Various embodiments of the present invention system may overcome one or more of
the problems of the conventional prior art.
The primary object of the present invention is a modular manufacturing and
assembling makes the manufacturing and replacing time is faster than other control
line airplane.
It is another object of the present invention, where in provide the better comfort for
flying and material is cheaper with durable.
SUMMARY OF INVENTION
Thus,the aspect of a crafting a control line airplanes using polyethylene terephthalate
(PET) bottles, said airplane comprising of:
A fuselage;
A wing;
A horizontal stabilizer;
A vertical stabiler;
A bellcrank mechanism;
A pushrod;
A plurality of nut and Bold;
A plurality of bold and nut;
A plurality of metal wire line;
A bottle head;
A bottle cap; and
A control horn,
wherein, the fuselage is the main body of the airplane, which is made up of
12mm aluminium rod and the wing connected in the top of the fuselage,
therein: attached with the plurality of bold and nut atleast two in numbers,
wherein, the horizontal stabilizer is connected in tail portion of the fuselage
which is also attached with the plurality of nut and bold atleast two _in
numbers, the vertical stabiler is fixed on the top of the elevator, therein,
thebellcrank mechanism is fixed in the bottom of the wing which also
connected in one of the bold and nut,
wherein, the plurality of metal wire line is connected in the bellcrank to
control the pitch movement of the elevator, therein, one end of the pushrod is
connected in the bellcrank mechanism and another end is connected in the
control horn, and
wherein, the bottle head and the bottle cap used as the motor mount to mount
motor.
It is other aspect of the invention said airplane is a modular manufacturing and

The present invention, as herein described, relates an airplane built from PET bottle.
Embodiment of the said invention is the concept involves the creation of model
airplanes using solely discarded PET bottles, offering a lightweight and .versatile
solution. Constructing these PET bottle planes not only reuses plastic waste, but also
provides an exciting entry into the world of modern aviation. By building and flying
such a plane, individuals can explore, the subjects like aerodynamics, mechanical
engineering, and electronics, presenting an excellent learning opportunity. The
utilization of PET bottles allows for the effortless fabrication of the entire structure,
including the fuselage, wings, elevator, and rudder, resulting in a highly efficient
aerodynamic design. This approach for building model airplanes is cost-effective and
simple, as it eliminates the need for additional materials. Moreover, this invention
contributes to waste management by encouraging the creative and innovative
recycling of plastic bottles. The hope is that this breakthrough will inspire young
innovative minds to find unique ways to recycle and repurpose waste plastic bottles.
Waste PET bottles are been collected and saved for the construction of‘ the model
airplane. Wing of the model airplane is made up of PET material which is commonly
used in water bottles and other beverages. Most commonly used PET materials are
made up of polymer material with more stronger bonds and lightweight in nature.
Firstly, aerofoil of the wing is made by using wooden molds, where these molds are
made by the CNC machine ,with wooden block. The molds are designed and cut
down in the shape of the airfoil.Generally, Balsa wood is used in the model to
construct the wing and other parts of the airplane. Wings are being covered with
monokote. During crash the monokote gets more damage and it affects the
aerodynamic shape of the plane. Covering is thinner and easylyterable. Present invention rectifies the problem using solid pet bottle outer layer. In order to give the
proper aerodynamic shape with cheaper, stronger and lightweight, and have planned
to construct the model airplane with the PET bottles and also it acts like as a 3D
printed plane with best aerodynamics.
Embodiment further comprises of top and bottom of the PET bottles are been cut.
Wooden molds are cut by CNC and mold are inserted into the water bottles. Inserted
water bottles are heated to the proper aerodynamics and reshaped. The molded
plastic bottles are attached.together to make wing. All Parts of the Model airplane are
heated and reshaped. Model airplane motor mount is made up of water bottle head
and head is connected with the fuselage. Motor is mounted in the cap of the bottle.
So, it is easily removed and fixed while using and flying. Fueslage is made up of
12mm hollow aluminium rod and the wing are screwed with the aluminium fuselage
by the connection of two screws. Tail plane of the fueslage is connected with
horizontal stabilizer with the use of the aluminium rods and also the vertical
stabilizer is connected with the help of nut or bolt.
Electronic speed controller, battery and receiver are been connected with the
fueslage with the help of Velcro strap and the rubber bands. Bell crank is connected
with the bottom of the fueslage with the help of nut and bolt where two strings are
been attached with bell crank. Two strings from the bell crank are been attached with
the handle. One end of the bell crank is attached with the push rod with the help of
control horn. When the Bell crank moves, it pushes or pulls on the pushrod, causing
the control surface to move in the desired direction. Control horn is a component
which is used in the Model airplane to control the movement of including the
Horizontal stabilizer. Control horn are secured with the control surfaces with help of
screw. Landing gear is attached with left and right side of the fueslage; with the help
of bolt nut.
The bell crank, a critical control surface of the model airplane that connects a pair of
lines and push rod.The mechanism serves the purpose of transforming rotational
motion to linear motion and vice versa, generating rotational output force at one end
when a linear input force is applied to the other. The control horn is attached via the
push rod to one end of the bell crank, while the other end is connected to a pair of
lines. The handle made of wood can be seen, which enables pilots to control the
model airplane.
Bell cranks are simple and dependable devices that can efficiently transmit motion
and force over long distances with minimal energy loss. They have numerous
applications in various industries, including in the design and construction of RC
planes and control line models. Due to their‘reliable and efficient design, they are a
popular choice for transmitting force and motion in a wide range of applications. As
the bell-crank undergoes differential movement, it causes the control surface to pitch
up or down.
In a model airplanes, the wing serves as the primary lifting surface that’generates lift
and offers stability and control during flight. Typically fastened to the fuselage, the
wing comes in a range of shapes‘and sizes depending on the airplanes type and
intended performance characteristics. Creating a pressure differential between the
upper and lower surfaces of the wing, the design of the wing is essential to 'its
aerodynamic performance and can vary based on the application. The materials used for constructing the wings of model airplanes can differs depending on factors which
includes type of plane and the desired performance characteristics. Options for wing
materials may include balsa wood, foam, carbon fiber, or fiberglass. Careful
consideration during the design and construction process is necessary to guarantee
optimal performance and handling of the airplanes.
To decrease drag and enhance the aerobatics of the model, the wing was constructed
in the structure of a symmetrical airfoil using the NACA 0018 airfoil. To strengthen and reduce the weight of the wing, waste PET bottles were utilized. This innovation
aims to prevent damage to the control line model, avoiding crashes, impacts, and
aerobatic maneuvering.The fuselage represents the primary body of the model
airplane, serving as the attachment point for the wings, tail, and other components;
Its shape and structure are contingent upon the desired performance characteristics of
the model airplane. The fuselage is a complex component of the model airplane that
must provide both structural support and aerodynamic efficiency. The utilization of
PET bottles in fuselage construction enables these requirements to be met
effectively.
The elevator is an essential control surface of an airplanes that plays a vital role in
controlling the pitch or up-and-down motion of the plane. 11 is usually located on the
tail section of the airplanes and can be moved up and down to alter the angle of the
plane's horizontal stabilizer. This, in turn, affects the lift generated by the wings and
helps the airplanes climb or descend, Pilots use the elevator in combination with
other control surfaces, such as the ailerons and rudder, to maneuver the airplanes in
flight. Proper maintenance and control of the elevator are crucial for the safe and
effective operation of airplanes.
Basically, rudder is used to control the yawing movement of the model 'airplane. In
control line plane it is fixed and tilted depon upon the aerodynamics of the model
airplane. Because of the model should be maintain the circular path.
A control horn is a crucial mechanical component in model airplanes used to control
the movement of the control surfaces, including the elevators, rudder, and ailerons.
Typically made of metal or plastic, the control horn is secured to the control surface
with screws or other fasteners. It’s positioning .and orientation must be chosen
carefully to ensure proper airplanes control. The control horn‘s secure attachment to
the control surface is essential to prevent it from becoming loose during flight and leading to a loss of control, Selecting and installing the control horn correctly is
paramount to the safe and effective operation of the airplanes.
A pushrod is a mechanical linkage used in Model Airplanes and other machines to
transmit force or motion from one point to another. A typical pushrod consists of a
rigid or flexible rod or wire where, the control horn is attached via the push god to
one end of the bell crank, while the other end is connected to a pair of lines. When
the Bell crank moves, it pushes or pulls on the pushrod, causing the control surface
to move in the desired direction.

Comfortable flying. Highly durable material. The present rectify the problem which the current models are broked during the training time. Its take much more time to
rebuilt. So PET material to make the plane stronger. It has hight durability than
current balsa models.It can suitable for both engine and electric. The present is
suggested for beginners who started to flying planes first time, which reduce the cost
of purchasing plane and rebulit cost. Easy to carry anywhere. Building materials of
model airplanes are rarely available in india. The materials are mainly balsa wood,
foam, and composites, This are costly and less availability in india. This model is.
made by readily available and cheaper material called PET from the PET Bottles.
The main motive of the project is waste to wealth creation. To reduce the bottle waste as an creation. During the crash, the outer covering (monokote'or vinyl sticker)
get fully damaged. In the present invention PET bottle is used to construct wing have
strong and solid outer covering. So it is durable and low breaking percentage
compare to the current models.
