Abstract: The claimed invention presents a crankcase assembly with a crankcase right and a left member housing a transmission assembly. Said transmission assembly has multiple axis of rotation out of which the axis of rotation of crankshaft and the primary driven axis are in a first plane and the axis of rotation of the wheel shaft is in a second plane where said first plane lies above the second plane. Said primary driven axis lies between the axis of rotation of crankshaft and the axis of rotation of the wheel shaft such that claimed location of the axis of rotation of the crank shaft axis, primary driven axis and the wheel axis results in the reduced weight and size of the crankcase which provides the space above the crankcase which can be utilized for any useful purpose as well as it gives a space below the crankcase hence the issue for the ground clearance can be managed.
FIELD OF INVENTION
Present invention relates generally to a crankcase assembly of a scooter type vehicle and more particularly to the arrangement of the axis of rotation of the wheel shaft with respect to the crankshaft axis and the primary driven gear axis.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
A crankcase assembly is made up of two major parts i.e. crankcase left and crankcase right. This configuration for the crankcase is common for hybrid and combustion engine vehicles.
More specifically talking about scooter type vehicles, the axis of rotation of the crankshaft, primary driven axis and the wheel axis lies in the same plane wherein said plane lies in horizontal orientation to the crankcase. Due to the size of the primary driven gear, bigger size of the complete crankcase is required which takes more space and as the crank case assembly is located near the rear wheel thus the rear portion of the vehicle becomes bulky, also the size of the wheels of the scoter type vehicles creates the issues of the ground clearance with a bigger sized.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a crankcase assembly having a crankcase right member and a crankcase left member housing a transmission assembly. Said transmission assembly has multiple axis of rotation out of which the axis of rotation of crankshaft and the primary driven axis are in a first plane and the axis of rotation of the wheel shaft is in a second plane where said first plane lies above the second plane. Said primary driven axis lies between the axis of rotation of crankshaft and the axis of rotation of the wheel shaft.
This new arrangement of the location of the axis of rotation of the crank shaft axis, primary driven axis and the wheel axis results in the reduced weight and size of the crankcase which provides the space above the crankcase which can be utilized for any useful purpose as well as it gives a space below the crankcase hence the issue for the ground clearance can be managed.

The present invention will become more fully understood from the detailed description given herein below and the accompanying drawings which are incorporated in and constitute embodiments of the invention, illustrate several aspects of the invention and together with a description of the embodiments serve to explain the principles of the invention and thus, are not limited of the present invention and a brief description of the drawings is as follows:
Figure 1 is the exploded view of the crankcase describing the arrangement as per an embodiment of the invention.
Figure 2 shows the crank case right for describing the embodiments of the invention.
Figure 3 is showing the outer side of the crank case left in order to explain an embodiment of the invention.
Figure 4 is showing the inner side of the crankcase left in order to explain an embodiment of the invention.
Figure 5 is showing the inner side of the crankcase in order to explain another arrangement of the embodiments of the invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The embodiments disclosed below are not intended to be exhaustive or to limit the invention to the precise forms disclosed in the following detailed description. Rather, the embodiments are chosen and described so that others skilled in the art may utilize their teachings. The invention may have application to all types of two wheeled vehicles.
Figure 1 is depicting the exploded view of the embodiments of the invention wherein said embodiments are crankcase left (110) and crankcase right (120). Crankcase Left is assembled with crankcase right through engine mounting members (113,121,125) in the line of mounting axis (130). The crankshaft is passing through crankshaft bearing boss (116) on the crankshaft axis (122) wherein the crankshaft bearing boss (116) is secured in the crankshaft chamber (114).
Further the crankshaft is passing through magneto boss (123) wherein the magneto boss (123) is secured in the crank case right (120) and coupled with the magneto rotor mounted on the magneto boss (123). Wheel shaft is passing through wheel axis (115) which is secured in the electric motor chamber/ wheel shaft chamber (111). Torque from crank shaft to wheel shaft reaches through the transmission system which is housed in the transmission chamber (112).
Figure 2 is depicting the crank case right wherein engine mounting members (113, 125) are used to mount crank case right (120) and crank case left (110) together such that crankshaft chamber (114) remains a closed chamber having crankcase right (120) on one side and crankcase left (110) on the other side. Crankshaft gets coupled with the magneto rotor, wherein the magneto rotor is secured in the magneto mount chamber (126), passing through crank shaft bearing (127).
Further referring to Figure 3, outer side of the crank case left (110) is shown in order to explain the positions of the crankshaft axis (122), primary driven axis (129) and wheel axis (115) relative to a plane AA'. The crankshaft axis (122) and the primary driven axis (129) lies in the said plane wherein the plane lies in the horizontal orientation (AA') to the crankcase left (110). The wheel axis (115) lies below the said plane AA' and connecting the primary driven axis in the line of ray B. The wheel axis, primary driven axis and the crankshaft axis (122) lies in the transverse direction of the crankcase as well as the primary driven axis (129) lies between the crankshaft axis (122) and the wheel axis (115).
Figure 4 is the perspective view of the inner side of the crankcase left (110) in order to describe the relation between the wheel axis (115) and the electric motor rotor axis (115 same as wheel axis) in reference of the location of the electric motor in the crankcase left (110). The electric motor is secured in the wheel shaft chamber (111) over the electric motor bosses (131,132,133) resulting the specific location of the electric motor, the wheel shaft and the electric motor rotor lies in same axis (115) which is in the transverse direction of the crankcase.
Referring to the Figure 5, another possible exemplary structure of the crankcase left is shown is shown wherein the wheel shaft chamber (111) can be of smaller size in case of any particular requirement related to the electric motor used.
Thus the size of the wheel chamber (111) and the transmission chamber (112) can be varied with not deviating from the main inventive concept i.e. the location of the crankshaft axis (122), primary driven axis (129) and the wheel shaft/rotor shaft axis (115).
While the invention has been described with reference to an exemplary embodiment, it will be understood by those skilled in the art that various changes may be made and equivalents may be substituted for elements thereof without departing from the scope of the invention. In addition, many modifications may be made to adapt a particular situation or material to the teachings of the invention without departing from the essential scope thereof. Therefore, it is intended that the invention not be limited to the particular embodiment disclosed as the best mode contemplated for carrying out this invention, but that the invention will include all embodiments falling within the scope of the appended claims.
