1) Crystalline Roxadustat Form-a characterized by its powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) pattern having the peaks at about 5.27, 8.18, 10.55, 11.51, 13.63, 14.51, 17.86, 18.55, 20.26, 20.63 and 24.77 ± 0.20° 2?.
2) Crystalline Roxadustat Form-a substantially as shown in Figure-1.
3) A process for preparation of crystalline Roxadustat Form-a, comprising;
a) Dissolving Roxadustat in solvent comprising acetic acid to obtain the solution and;
b) Isolating crystalline Roxadustat Form-a.

b) Isolating crystalline Roxadustat Form-a.
