Description:FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present invention relates to a customizable gummies preparation device that is developed to prepare gummies according to specific user preferences, by layering different flavors and cut the gummies into consistent sizes for convenient eating.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0002] The preparation of gummies, particularly in a customizable, user-driven environment, has grown in demand due to the increasing interest in personalized nutrition, dietary supplements, and specialized flavor experiences. Gummies are a popular form of confectionery and dietary supplement, offering consumers an enjoyable and convenient way to ingest various nutrients, vitamins, and flavors. However, traditional methods of gummy preparation are often manual, labor-intensive, and lack precision in ingredient proportions, consistency, and flavor customization. To address these challenges, there is a need for an automated system that enables users to tailor the flavor profiles, ingredient mixtures, and consistency of gummies according to specific preferences or health needs. Such a system would streamline the production process, reducing human effort, time, and potential for error.
[0003] The preparation of gummies requires a variety of specialized equipment to ensure the right texture, consistency, and safety. Key equipment includes mixing kettles or cookers for heating the gelatin and other ingredients, silicone molds for shaping the gummies, and cooling tunnels or chambers to solidify the gummies after molding. Additionally, enrobing machines or tumblers are used for coating gummies in sugar or other finishing materials, while packaging machines help in final product sealing and distribution. However, the use of such equipment comes with certain drawbacks. The initial investment in high-quality machines can be costly, which may be a significant barrier for small-scale producers. Maintenance costs and the need for specialized operators also add to operational expenses. Moreover, precise temperature control is crucial when preparing gummies, and failure in the equipment or inaccurate settings can result in inconsistent texture, quality, or taste. Another drawback is the time required for cooling and molding, which can limit production efficiency, especially during high-demand periods. Finally, certain machines, like enrobing or coating systems, leads to material waste if not calibrated properly, further increasing costs. These challenges make it essential to balance equipment quality, production volume, and cost-effectiveness in gummy manufacturing.
[0004] US2004013767A1 discloses a novel chewing gum formulation and a method of making the same. The chewing gum formulation is used to form a final chewing gum composition which contains an active ingredient which is released from the chewing gum as the gum is masticated in the mouth of the user. The chewing gum made from the chewing gum composition of the present invention is initially a compressed body, such as a tablet, which quickly dissociates into a multiplicity of small pieces upon initial chewing followed by a reformation of the pieces into a coherent mass of chewing gum after a few seconds of chewing. Both the chewing gum formulation and the chewing gum composition are in the form of a free-flowing particulate which is capable of being directly compressed at high speed by a standard tableting machine into chewing gum tablets.
[0005] US2006062872A1 discloses an article of manufacture which includes, but is not limited to, (i) a hollow container having an enclosed interior portion and an orifice in fluid communication with the interior portion; (ii) a flowable chewing gum composition contained within the interior portion; (iii) a valve having an open position to permit the gum composition to flow through the orifice and having a closed position to prevent the chewing gum from flowing through the orifice; and (iv) a propellant contained within the container under pressure for pressurably moving the gum composition through the orifice when the valve is in the open position.

[0020] As used herein, the singular forms “a,” “an,” and “the” designate both the singular and the plural, unless expressly stated to designate the singular only.
[0021] The present invention relates to a customizable gummies preparation device that is capable of producing gummies of layers of different flavors that meet user preferences, by automatically dispenses and layers various flavors while also cutting the gummies into consistent sizes for ease of consumption.
[0022] Referring to Figure 1, an isometric view of a customizable gummies preparation device is illustrated, comprises of a body 101 arranged with a touch interactive display panel 102, a multi-sectioned chamber 103 arranged inside the body 101 and integrated with multiple electronically controlled nozzles 104, a container 105 arranged underneath the chamber 103, a motorized stirrer 106 integrated at base of the container 105, a conduit 107 integrated with the container 105, a tray 108 arranged at base of the body 101, a motorized roller 109 arranged on the tray 108 by means of a motorized sliding unit 110, and a motorized gripper 111 suspended from ceiling of the body 101 and integrated with a blade 112.
[0023] The proposed invention includes a body 101 preferably in cuboidal shape incorporating various components associated with the device, developed to be positioned on a fixed surface. The body 101 is made up of any material selected from but not limited to metal such as stainless steel or alloy, that ensures rigidity of the body 101 for longevity of the device.
[0024] A user is required to access and presses a switch button arranged on the body 101 to activate the device for associated processes of the device. The switch button when pressed by the user, opens up an electrical circuit and allows currents to flow for powering an associated microcontroller of the device for operating of all the linked components for performing their respective functions upon actuation.
[0025] The microcontroller, mentioned herein, is preferably an Arduino microcontroller. The Arduino microcontroller used herein controls the overall functionality of the components linked to it. The Arduino microcontroller is an open-source programming platform.
[0026] After the activation of the device, the user accesses a touch interactive display panel 102 installed over the body 101 for providing input regarding flavors and ingredients of gummies to be prepared. When the user touches the surface of the touch interactive display panel 102 to enter the input details, then an internal circuitry of the touch interactive display panel 102 senses the touches of the displayed option and synchronically, the internal circuitry converts the physical touch into the form of electric signal. The microcontroller processes the received signal from the display panel 102 in order to process the signal and determine the user selection and store the user response to a linked database for further associated functions related to the user input.
[0027] Upon receiving of the user input, the microcontroller evaluates a set of ingredients to be utilized for preparing gummies of different layer to taste as per user’s preference. The body 101 is arranged with a multi-sectioned chamber 103 arranged inside the body 101. Each of the sections of the chamber 103 stores different ingredients such as Granulated Sugar, Light Corn Syrup, Water, Gelatin, Coconut Oil, Natural Cherry Flavor etc. for preparing gummies based upon user preference of different tastes.
[0028] The sections of the chamber 103 incorporate multiple electronically controlled nozzles 104. The base portion of the body 101 accommodates a container 105 which is positioned just below the chamber 103. The base of the container 105 is equipped with a motorized stirrer 106. A tray 108 is arranged at the base of the body 101, juxtaposition to the container 105. The tray 108 is connected with the container 105 by means of a conduit 107.
[0029] In accordance to the evaluated requirement of ingredients for preparation of gummies, the microcontroller actuates the nozzles 104 of the sections to dispense appropriate amount of different ingredients as per requirement into the container 105. Each of the electronically controlled nozzles 104, used herein, controls flow of the ingredients by varying the size of the flow passage as directed by a signal from a microcontroller. This enables the direct control of flow rate and the consequential control of process quantities such as pressure, and ingredients level in view of dispensing the ingredients as per the determined requirement, over the container 105.
[0030] Post dispensing of the ingredients, the microcontroller actuates the motorized stirrer 106 comprises a rod that is configured with multiple propellers. The rod is rotated by the means of a DC (Direct Current) electric motor in order to provide motion to the propeller to mix up the ingredients uniformly and further breaks any lump present in the ingredients into finer particles, thereby creates a homogeneous mixture.
[0031] The container 105 is equipped with an electric pump and that is actuated by the microcontroller to transfer the prepared mixture into the tray 108 via the conduit 107. The electric pump is used to induce flow or raise the pressure of the mixture. The working principle of pump involves imparting energy to the mixture by means of a centrifugal force developed by the rotation of an impeller that has several blade 112 s or vanes. The impeller of the pump is rotated by an electric DC (Direct Current) motor. The mixture in the specified portion enters the impeller’s eye and translates through the outlet conduit 107 to the tray 108 in order to transfer the mixture over the tray 108.
[0032] The container 105 incorporates plurality of Peltier units to cool the mixed ingredients before dispensing into the tray 108. Each of the Peltier units is based on the Peltier effect that stated that the cooling of one junction and the heating of the other when electric current is maintained in a circuit of material consisting of two dissimilar conductors. The Peltier effect related to production or absorption of heat at the junction of two metals on the passage of a current, thereby cools the mixture efficiently.
[0033] The tray 108 integrates a motorized roller 109 by means of a sliding unit 110. Post transferring of the mixture into the tray 108, the microcontroller then actuates a direct current (DC) motor associated with the roller 109 such that rotates an integrated hub of the roller. The rotation of the hub of the roller 109 consequently results in rotation of the roller 109 for applying pressure over the mixture, consequently levelling the mixture.
[0034] Simultaneously, the microcontroller actuates the sliding unit 110 to translate the roller 109 in order to form layers of the ingredients of the mixture. The sliding unit 110 consists of a pair of sliding rails fabricated with grooves in which the wheel of a slider is positioned that is further connected with a bi-directional motor via a shaft. The microcontroller actuates the bi-directional motor to rotate in a clockwise and anti-clockwise direction that aids in the rotation of the shaft, wherein the shaft converts the electrical energy into rotational energy for allowing movement of the wheel to translate over the sliding rail by a firm grip on the grooves. The movement of the sliding unit 110 results in the translation of the roller 109 over the dispensed mixture of the tray 108.
[0035] In relation to prepare multi-flavored layered gummies, the microcontroller re-actuates the nozzles 104, and stirrer 106 to prepare new flavor mixture, followed by transferring the new flavor mixture to the tray 108. Accordingly, the roller 109 and the sliding unit 110 are re-actuated to layer another layer of mixture, thereby forming multi-flavored layered gummies.
[0036] The ceiling portion of the body 101 suspends a motorized gripper 111 integrated with a blade 112. The microcontroller actuates the gripper 111 to position the blade 112 in contact with the gummies layers.
[0037] The gripper 111 comprises, motor controllers, arm, end effector and sensors. All these parts are configured with the microcontroller. The elbow is at the middle section of the arm that allows the upper part of the arm to move the lower section independently. Lastly, the wrist is at the tip of the upper arm and attached to the end effector which is further attached with the blade 112. The gripper 111 further comprises an electric motor and linked with the microcontroller. The microcontroller provides a signal relating to the force, position, or the speed required.
[0038] The gripper 111 receives the signal and its motor carries out the positioning of the blade 112 in contact with the layered gummies. Position and drag the blade 112 along a horizontal manner corresponding to cutting of layered gummies in equal sizes. The cutting of gummies prepares a required number of the gummies as per the user-desired flavor and ingredients.
[0039] A battery (not shown in figure) is associated with the device to supply power to electrically powered components which are employed herein. The battery is comprised of a pair of electrodes named as a cathode and an anode. The battery uses a chemical reaction of oxidation/reduction to do work on charge and produce a voltage between their anode and cathode and thus produces electrical energy that is used to do work in the device.
[0040] The present invention works best in the following manner, where the user inputs flavor and ingredient preferences via the touch interactive display panel 102, which is positioned on the fixed surface. The multi-sectioned chamber 103 inside the body 101, equipped with electronically controlled nozzles 104, dispenses the required ingredients onto the container 105 below. The nozzles 104 are actuated by the microcontroller to release precise amounts of each ingredient, after which the motorized stirrer 106 at the base of the container 105, also controlled by the microcontroller, mixes the ingredients thoroughly. The mixed ingredients are then pumped through the conduit 107 and dispensed onto the tray 108 using the pump, both controlled by the microcontroller. The motorized roller, positioned on the tray 108, is moved along the ingredients to layer them, forming multi-flavored gummies. Finally, the motorized gripper 111 with the blade 112, suspended from the ceiling, cuts the layered gummies into uniform sizes as specified by the user. Additionally, Peltier units integrated into the container 105 cool the mixed ingredients before they are dispensed, ensuring optimal consistency, with all components synchronized and controlled by the microcontroller for precise operation.
[0041] Although the field of the invention has been described herein with limited reference to specific embodiments, this description is not meant to be construed in a limiting sense.
