Database Management System For Vehicle Records

Abstract: This is a system for managing the various types of vehicle related details. The system facilitate the user for reading of existing vehicle related details and feeding of the new details, if any, alteration is done to the vehicle related details like part number during maintenance and overhaul of the vehicle.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION
This invention relates to the management of the various types of aircraft
related records and update of the records whenever any type of alteration
is done to the aircraft and its parts.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
An aircraft comprises of different types of parts. These part details have to
be preserved for the future so that any information can be easily available
whenever required by the maintenance staff. At present, the maintenance
staff preserves these records in the form of papers. Keeping the records in
the form of papers is not a recommended way of preserving any details
owing to its vulnerability to various factors like hectic searching, piling up
of huge data etc. The records are huge in number if consider different
types of aircraft. Also searching of details are cumbersome and time
taking process which is not preferred when any details is required on
urgent basis.
SUMMARY OF PRESENT INVENTION
As per one aspect of the present invention, the system is capable to
connect with similar type of system to share database like fleet
management.
As per second aspect of present invention, the system showcases
substantial features in terms of allowing access to the number of users
whose details are present in the database which can be altered via power
users.

As per another aspect of present invention, the system comprises of
records for the different types of aircraft and its parts.
As per yet another aspect of present invention, the system has the facility
to generate report for the details required as per user requirement.
As per one more aspect of the present invention, the system has the
facilty for encryption and decryption of the details present in the database.
As per another aspect of present invention, system allows the users to
feed details, if any alteration is required.
As per another aspect of present invention, the system comprises of the
sortie data of the aircraft required for the analysis and display of the
results.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PRESENT INVENTION
While the invention is capable of fulfilling its objective in many different
forms, it is shown in the drawing and will herein be describe in detail. The
invention 20(embodiment) is generalized one which keeps the details of

different aircraft in its database and capable of incorporating new details, if
required like addition of new aircraft in database, replacement of the parts
of existing aircraft etc.
The invention 20 consist of the sortie details of aircraft present in the
database and these sortie details can be imported to the analysis and
display equipment for the generation of required results.
Referring to FIG.1, the accessibility of present invention to the users
working in similar type of system is shown. The user from similar system
can access the database of present invention 20 through the server by
entering the allotted specific credentials and can perform the desired
action.
Referring to FIG.2, present invention security aspect is shown. A database
of user 60 is created so that only authenticated users have accessibility to
the device 20. Each user has its own credentials. If any user whose details
are present in the database enter his credential 50 can get access to use
the functionality of the system. Accessibility to the undesired user is
denied in the present invention to protect the data from getting into wrong
hands. New users can be created based on requirements subject to
availability of pre-authentication from power users 70. Necessary user
database can be uploaded/ altered based on the user requirements.
Authenticated user can decrypt 80 the details present in the database for
reading and report generation.
Referring to FIG.3, flowchart for the functionality of the present invention
20 is shown. Enter the sensitive credential 110 on opening 100 of present
invention 20 and get access to the present invention 20. Select the vehicle
like aircraft name from the dropdown list 120 to see the details of that
aircraft. Encryption 150 can be done after viewing or entry of new details
to protect the records.
Referring to FIG.4, illustration of view of existing aircraft details 160 is
shown. Details comprises of many part like year of induction in service of
vehicle like aircraft 170, total time in service 180, how many times gone for

maintenance 190, current status of life limited parts (like airframe, engine,
propeller, rotor and other items) 200, last overhaul of that item 210, details
of major alteration to the item 220, name of the person who performed the
maintenance work 230, details of the part replaced 240, time and date
when next action is required for maintenance 250, report generation in
readable format like pdf. doc. etc. 260, sortie details for display and
analysis 270.
Referring to FIG.5, illustration of entry of new details 280 is shown. The
new details include addition of new aircraft and its date of induction in
service 290, details of part of new aircraft as well as existing aircraft 300,
feeding of details of maintenance or overhaul work done 310, details of
next scheduled maintenance work 320, entry of other details if required by
the user 330, addition of new sortie details 340. These sortie details can
be imported to the analysis and display equipment for further analysis and
display of results.

Accordingly, the description of the present invention is to be considered as illustrative only and is for the purpose of teaching those skilled in the art of the best mode of carrying out the invention. The details may be varied substantially without departing from the spirit of the invention, and exclusive use of all modifications which are within the scope of the appended claims is reserved. We Claim

1. The database management system for preserving vehicle like aircraft records comprising of:

- System having computing capability & atleast one display and alteast one network card to share database through server;
- System having operating system to support the tool on which database management system works;
- System having battery pack to maintain continuous supply of power;
- System having a suitable printing device attached for printing purposes;

2. The system according to claim 1 comprising of the security feature; wherein, only authenticated users having their details in the database can access the system & power user grants rights for new registration.

3. The system according to claim 1 further comprising of the facility of viewing the vehicle like aircraft details; wherein, different type of vehicle like aircraft details are present on the Graphical User Interface which user can view via suitable interface.

4. The system according to claim 1, comprising of the facility of feeding the new details; wherein, user can feed the details if any new vehicle like aircraft is added or any alteration is done to the existing vehicle like aircraft.

5. The system according to claim 1 comprising of the feature; wherein, report generation and printing facility is available.
