Abstract: The present invention relates to an engine set up (100) for decarbonisation of the engine, comprising an engine (102), wherein the engine (102) is an internal combustion engine, an electronic control unit (ECU) (114) for scheduled cleansing of a crankcase of the engine, a scheduling module in the ECU (114) for determining time intervals for the scheduled cleansing. A solenoid valve (118) controls the flow rate of blow by gases. 10 The engine setup further comprises a vacuum pump (108) to improve the flow of blow by gases from the engine crankcase. The scheduled cleansing is performed by injection of combustible gas and blow-by gases at time intervals determined by the scheduling module. The scheduling module determines the time intervals by optimising a time parameter depending upon the type and specification of the engine (102), and the 15 engine up time. << to be published with Fig. 1 >>
We Claim:

an engine (102), wherein the engine (102) is an internal combustion engine;
an electronic control unit (ECU) (114) for scheduled cleansing of a 5 crankcase of the engine;
a scheduling module in the ECU (114) for determining time intervals for the scheduled cleansing;
wherein the scheduled cleansing is by intermittent injection of combustible gas and injection of blow by gases separately at time intervals determined 10 by the scheduling module; and
the scheduling module determines the time intervals by optimising a time parameter depending upon the type and specification of the engine, and the engine up time.
2. The engine set up (100) as claimed in claim 1, comprising:
15 an oil separator (106) to filter the oil in the blow by gases, exiting from a crankcase of the engine (102), and returning the oil to the engine (102); and
a non return check valve (104) positioned between the engine (102) and the oil separator (106) to regulate the flow of blow by gases from the crankcase to the oil separator (106).
20 3. The engine set up (100) as claimed in claim 1, comprising,
a gas canister (110) with a first chamber (111) and a second chamber (113) to store the blow by gases and combustible gas;
an inlet attached to the gas canister (110) to take in the blow by gases from the crankcase;
an outlet attached to the gas canister (110) to supply the blow by gases to a solenoid valve (118);
5 a vacuum pump (108) positioned between the oil separator (106) and the gas canister (110) to regulate the flow rate of blow by gases.
4. The engine set up (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein,
the ECU (114) controls the speed of the vacuum pump (108) to control the vacuum pressure during the scheduled cleansing of the engine crankcase.
10 5. The engine set up (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein, the combustible gas is hydrogen.
6. The engine set up (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein,
the ECU (114) controls the opening and closing of the solenoid valve (118); and
15 a stepper motor is actuated by the ECU (114) to perform the opening and closing of the solenoid valve (118).
7. The engine set up (100) as claimed in claim 1, comprising
a flash memory in the ECU (114), to store a scheduling module which provides the operation sequence of the ECU (114).
20 8. The engine set up (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein,
the ECU (114) is configured to trigger the process of cleaning of the engine cylinder on conveyance of engine error codes, generated by an inbuilt engine management system in the engine (102) during manufacture.
9. The engine set up (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein,
an user can override the operation of the ECU (114) to control the decarbonisation process; and
a timer circuit automatically turns off stopping the operation of the ECU 5 (114).
10. A method of decarbonisation of engine (102), wherein the steps comprise:
determining, by an scheduling module, time intervals for a scheduled cleansing of the engine (102);
controlling, by an electronic control unit (ECU) (114), the flow and flow 10 rate of blow by gases from a crankcase of the engine and a combustible gas, to an air intake of the engine for the scheduled cleansing;
wherein determining the time intervals is by optimising a time parameter depending upon the type and specification of the engine (102), and the engine up time.
