Specification

FIELD OF THE INVENTION:

[001] The present invention is relates to a dermatological composition and the product thereof for non-therapeutic treatment of the chronic dry skin for restoring the water content.

BACKGROUND AND PRIOR ART OF THE INVENTION:

[002] Skin is the largest organ in the body, also a sense organ. In various disease conditions and treatment after effects result into dry skin conditions hence, adequate care and conditioning is necessary to keep the skin healthy and functional.

[003] Indian Patent No.: 241208 discloses a combination of a non-ionic tri-block poly-propylene-oxide, poly-ethylene-oxide alcohol ether surfactant coupled with black polymer poly (butadiene-b-ethylene oxide) is an excellent surfactant phase to micro-emulsify sebum on contact. A method of micro-emulsification of sebum on contact with inventive compositions according to the present invention will form micro-emulsions which can enhance (1) deep pore cleansing of skin and (2) delivery of skin benefit actives into the skin.

[004] Indian Patent No.: 221067 discloses skin care or cleansing implements are described containing a liquid, semi-solid or solid cleansing or skin treatment composition that is releasable associated with the implement. The composition is substantially nonaqueous and has a continuous and a discontinuous phase. Components of the discontinuous phase can react with each other or with water when water is blended with the nonaqueous cleansing or skin treatment composition during consumer use. Methods for treating the skin with the inventive implements are also described.

[005] US Patent Application No.: 11/953915 discloses a system of cosmetic and dermatological compositions and methods for treating and improving the aesthetic appearance of a biological surface by altering the optical properties of the biological surface, thereby resulting in a natural, flawless appearance. The compositions of the invention may be topically applied to the biological surface, including but not limited to skin, in an amount effective in improving the aesthetic and natural appearance of the biological surface

[006] Presently many pharmaceutical cosmetic composition having ingredients like Sodium Lauryl Sulfates (SLSs), which is absorbed by the skin and having severe health implications. Further, the composition of the present invention does not contain any parabens, which is widely used as preservatives in the dermatological or cosmetic compositions, but is not safe for the skin because study shows parabens may cause early maturation in girls and boys, premature ageing of skin, in extreme cases skin cancer. Further, another chemical is Ethylene diamine tetra-acetic acid (EDTA), which is made from the known carcinogen, formaldehyde and sodium cyanide. Many dermatological or cosmetic compositions contain EDTA as a skin penetration enhancer. Many dermatological compositions uses Tetra-sodium EDTA instead of parabens to preserve their product, but Tetra-sodium EDTA is just as bad as normal EDTA.

[007] Therefore there exists a need for a dermatological or cosmetic composition and product thereof for chronic dry skin in order to naturally restore the water or moisture content of the skin. Further, there is a need to provide a dermatological or cosmetic composition, which is completely free from SLSs, Parabens, EDTA and any other chemicals having severe skin or health implications.

[008] The dermatological or cosmetic composition of the present invention comprises of natural ingredients to restore skin's water content, as varying climatic conditions and uses of medicines causes skin to lose its moisture. The product of the present invention provides a non-greasy body lotion leaves skin soft, supple and toned.
