Abstract: India is an agricultural based Country where 60% of the people are engaged in farming. The important thing in farming is the sowing of seed which is usually a hectic task with lots of hard-work. The sowing is a traditional method which is usually done by farmer manually by using his hand and some of the hand tools. The sowing is very time consuming process and it also affects the farmer. Back pain, Neck pain and Gap between the spinal cords is the main reason which affects the farmer body which leads to the main disadvantage behind the traditional method of seed sowing.
FIELD OF INVENTION
The project is invented for field of agriculture.
OBJECTIVE
The most important task in any kind of farming is the sowing of the seed which is very time consuming and hectic. Of all the seed, the sowing of cotton seed is very difficult. As the cotton seed requires uniform distribution of seed for mass production of cotton and also to maintain its quality. So this invention leads to less time consumption for sowing the cotton seeds and it also helps the farmer to equally sow the seeds. It helps to reduce all the body and health related problems which is occurred due to the traditional method of sowing.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The. present invention of cotton seed sowing machine leads to give greater relief to the farmer. The invention of the machine is manual but no more handling of hand tools. A single machine which is compact does all the work of various hand tools thereby no need of carrying hand tools. The machine operation totally depends upon the farmer and his usage. The machine drop seeds equally with uniform distribution. As per the requirement, the count of the seeds drop by the said machine can be varied according to the farmer's will. The space distribution between the seeds is maintain uniformly and can be varied as per the requirement of the farmer. The space distribution between the seeds depend upon the rotation of the wheels. The diameter of the wheel can also be varied according to the farmer's requirement. The wheel is specially designed to drop the seed in the soil with the help of a seed hopper. The seed from the hopper is get accumulated into the wheel and with the help of sprocket and chain arrangement a seed is guided to funnel and then via connecting pipes it is dropped into the soil.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION
The main components of the machine are
1) Base plate
Base plate is the base of the machine on which various components are mounted. The base plate is made up of MS. Base plate is shown in fig.(a)
2) Hopper
Hopper is one of the container, which collect seeds and drops it down on the slots made to the specially designed wheels.
Here we use 3 hoppers.
Hopper is made up of Plastic.
Hopper is shown in fig.(b)
3) Specially designed wheel
It is the specially designed wheel with a slot on the periphery of the wheel to collect the seed from the hopper.
It is made up of Wood.
Specially designed wheel is shown in 'fig.(c)
4) Funnel
Funnel of small size is used for collecting the seed from specially designed wheel and with the help of hoses dropping it into the soil.
It is made up of Plastic.
Funnel is shown in fig.(d)
5) Sprocket and Chain
Sprocket and chain here works as an driving member which leads to the rotation of Specially designed wheel and finally the mechanism comes in motion.
Sprocket and chain is shown in fig.(e)
6) Flexible pipe
Flexible pipe is used to drop a seed from the funnel into the soil.
7) Flapper
Flapper is used to dig the soil so that seed can drop in it. Flapper is made up of Ms. Flapper is shown in fig.(g)
8) Wheel
It is mounted on the base plate which rotates on the field. Wheel is made up of MS. Wheel is shown in fig.(h)
9) Angles and Rod for connection
It is used as a connecting member which hold the parts of the assembly. Angles and Rod are shown in fig.(a)
10) Shafts
Shafts are the member on which rotating members like wheel, sprocket and specially designed wheel are mounted.
There are two shafts used in this project of variable dimensions.
These two shafts are shown in fig.(i) and fig.(j).
DETALIED DESCRIPTION
Referring to the drawing Fig. (x) and Fig. (y), this invention leads to impeccable design of Cotton Seed Sowing Machine. In this illustration the machine is assembled and mounted on a base plate. According to the invention said machine can also be used for various other seeds but it is specially designed for Cotton Crops. The sowing machine is so designed to sow seeds in a line.
According to the invention the base wheel starts rotating by the force applied by farmer. As the wheel rotates the Sprocket near the base wheel get its actuation and it also starts rotating. The chain is attached to the sprocket which leads to the rotation of Specially designed wheel and the machine starts working.
The hopper is filled by seeds. The specially designed wheel has a slot on its outer periphery which is attached to the hopper. Seeds from the hopper fall on the slots of specially designed wheels where it gets choke and after one rotation of the specially designed wheel it gets fall on the opening of the funnel.
The funnel is a kind of hopper which is small in size and does same function as. the hopper do and it is shown in fig.(b). One end of the flexible pipe is connected to the bottom end of the funnel and the other end is freely suspended. The freely suspended end of the hose pipe is brought behind the flapper.
The flapper is wedge in shape which is used to dig the soil and makes valley into the soil This invention leads to the uniform distribution of seeds into the valley. Seeds are dropped into the valley in a line. After seeds is dropped into the valley, the another flapper in the backside of the machine attached to the base plate is used to cover seeds by layer of soil.
This invention leads to drop 2 or 3 seeds at a time into valley. As this machine is invented for cotton seed sowing, the most important part in cotton production is the distance between seeds and number of seeds that is drop down by the machine. Number of seeds can be dropped down into the soil as per the requirement of the farmer. But for the mass production it is best suited to drop 2 or 3 seeds. The equal distance between seeds dropped in 1st section and seeds dropped in 2n section is maintained. This leads to achieve good quality cotton.
As the efforts are made to make India a developed country, the agricultural field must have to increase its production rate, so as to provide sufficient products for the day by day increasing population of India.
And as the Cotton is one of the major crop product produced by Indian farmers, the focus must be concentrated to make the cotton production easier for the farmers. This invention helps the farmers in the major aspect of cotton production, that is Cotton Seed Sowing. This machine makes cotton seed sowing process easier for the farmers. As the cotton production increases, it absolutely helps to increase Indian economy.
We can mount this whole assembly to the tractor by using suitable mechanism so as to reduce human efforts.
