Abstract: This invention is intended for easy selection of refueling / defueling mode of the defueling valve in LCA- Tejas Aircraft, prior to sortie. It is observed that it is difficult to rotate the lever by hand which is also not readily accessible and may leads to work strain and injury due to use of improper method. Based on detail study and analysis a tool has been designed, fabricated and " successfully tested for rotating the lever of defueling valve in an easy and safe way.
DESCRIPTION TECHNICAL FIELD
The invention describes a tool / process for opening and closing of the defueling valve, prior to fuelling mode (refueling / defueling).
BACKGROUND OF INVENTION
To carryout the refueling / defueling on LCA Tejas A/c prior to any sortie, the defueling valve, which is not readily accessible, needs to be positioned to the refueling or defueling mode. Moreover it is difficult to rotate the lever by hand as it is hard and has a limited area for accessibility and it may lead to the work strain, hence a need of tool aroused for mode selection ' to avoid the injury and fatigue to the technicians.
SUMMARY OF INVENTION
Tool need to be designed for mode selection and ease of operation to avoid work strain.

TOOL & PROCESS DETAIL DESCRIPTION
Tool is prepared as per the aircraft requirement consisting of following parts
1. T-Section: T section type handle is provided for easy rotation of the lever.
2. Socket: It is been provided to hold the lever on the defueling valve.
3. Fork End: It is been welded in between the T-section and Socket to make the socket flexible in one direction and rigid in other All the sharp edges has been rounded off to avoid the damage and injury while using the tool.
Process to be carried out for mode selection:
1. Position the tool and ensure that the slot on the socket is perfectly aligning with the lever provided on the Defueling valve.
2. Firmly hold the tool and rotate the lever as per the required mode.
CLAIMS
We claim,
1. Tool drawing made under the unique tool number for calling in the process sheet and for future references.
2. Work strain reduced.
3. Ergonomics concept developed.
