Specification

Field of the invention:

The present invention relates to novel design of a machine for spreading fertilizer. The invention more specifically relates to a low cost solar powered machine for spreading fertiliser.
Background / prior art:
India is traditionally very rich in farming. Most of the people are depends upon the agriculture earning. But due to the less availability and costly labor the forming is challenging to all technocrats and engineers to make it profitable and fashionable business. It is reality that our farmers are still doing farming in old traditional ways like fertilizer spreading by conventional method. Fertilizer broadcasting requires more human efforts and time to spread uniformly over the entire field. So by this invention our farmers will get an easier and less human fatigue to spread fertilizer over entire field in less time. This invention is economical and fashionable for Indian formers and world as whole.
For large scale farming tractor mounted fertilizer spreaders are used. But it is not suitable for small scale and also not possible to buy costly tractor mounted fertilizer spreaders for small scale farming. Hand spreading has some problems like uneven spreading of fertilizer, more time consuming, high human effort.
There are no such solution available for this spreading problem for small scale farming. So this invention solves these problems for small scale farming in which most of Indian farmers are lying.
Followings are few examples of related art in this area.

DE2843487A1 discloses the agricultural spreading machine is especially for fertiliser or seed. It comprises a supply container with a conveyor-metering device and a thrower disc for broadcasting. The drive of the conveyor-metering device and the drive of the thrower disc are both speed-controllable electric motors. The speeds of the motors are identified in a central control unit from the valves given by hand and sensors and are automatically held at a required valve.

GB2159683A discloses a machine for spreading particulate products, e.g. fertilizer, has a hopper (31), a containment plate (32) and a pair of spreading discs (14, 15). The product in the hopper is mixed by stirring members and the feed through the containment plate to the discs is variable by varying the degree to which covering plates cover discharging orifices (40) in the plate 32. Adjustable vanes (16) are provided on the discs for adjusting the direction and width of the product distribution, and there are also means for adjusting the height of the machine relative to the ground. Mechanical and hydraulic control devices are provided which are actuated and controlled by a tractor unit to which the machine is attached.

A non patent literature titled DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF FERTILIZER SPREADER MACHINE over a fallow land by dropping the fertilizer over the impeller disc. India is agricultural based country. C) Calculation
In another embodiment, calculation for Location of impeller disc on column is mentioned as follows:-
• The following equation gives the estimate of action of the fertilization travel in the air according to location of impeller disc on column.
• Following equation helps to determine location of disc.

Where:
H = horizontal distance that the fertilizer travel in to the air.
A = vertical height column at disc is located.
r = radius of the disc = 13.97cm
? = angle in degree.
The target of the spreading the fertilizer is 6.0 m to 9.0 m, according to this vertical height gap is 25.0 cm. The angle is lies between 30 degree to 60 degree.

II Calculation of weight of rotating disc:-
• The rotating disc is made out from wood.
• Rotating disc is circular in shape.
• For calculating weight of rotating disc the following formula is used:-

Where,
d = diameter of rotating disc.
t = thickness of rotating disc.
? = density of wood.
g = 9.81 m/s^2

Input parameters
d = 27.94cm
t = .47cm
? = 0.43 g/cm^3
After putting all input parameters in above equation weight of rotating disc is obtained and its value is w = 3.42 N.

In a preferred embodiment, the machine works on the principle of centrifugal force produced by rotating impeller disc. The hopper as storing tank, in which the fertilizer is stored, is placed above the impeller in way that the fertilizer will fall right above the spreader disc. The amount of fertilizer to be spreaded in all direction is metered using the adjustable opening. That means flow of fertilizer from the hopper can be controlled manually as required. After opening is adjusted to required level, the granular fertilizer is poured onto the impeller disk. The fins or vanes fitted on the high RPM rotating disk push force due to centrifugal motion that spreads fertilizer to different directions. Thus fertilizer is spreaded to different directions evenly.
Also, hard back supportable cover is provided at the back to avoid the spreading of fertilizer to back of farmer’s body and support the frame to hang machine on farmers back comfortably.
Land Cover -5.5 hectare/hour (at maximum speed)
1.3 hectare/hour (at minimum speed)
In conventional method of fertilizer spreading, farmers carry heavy bags in hand throughout the spreading process to scatter granular or bulk fertilizer on the ground. That is not comfortable and obstructing the work as carrying and spreading is done by the hands only but in this invention carrying load on the shoulder and hands are free to operate the control valve bottom and solar panel provide shadow on the head which will protect from the sun and rain along with generation of power to operate the machine. So this machine will be the great boon for the Indian farmers.
Advantages

• Light weight
• Less cost
• User friendly
• Eco-friendly
• Onsite power generation
The present invention is advantageous for
• All type of granular fertilizers in the field.
• Wheat, Paddy, Maize, etc. seeds can be also spread in the field.
