Design And Manufacturing Of Special Fixture With Profile For Fabrication Of Phenolic Part

Abstract: The part fabrication in CNC is very difficult due to phenolic material. The material is removed in the form of dust which is very difficult to remove from the machine bed . Since CNC is high precision and control tolerance machine , phenolic material spoil the bed which cause tolerance error . For fabrication of part with such Phenolic material, the practicar_difficulties~facecJ arid "rectification carried using improved fixtures techniques with different process in GMC to achieve the required objective . Our invention describes the economical solution for this activity.

DESCRIPTION

TECHNICAL FIELD

As the special fixture with profile as hold in a three self centering chuck, due to this truing of the centre is abolished completely and to reduce set up time for batch production of parts

BACKGROUND OF INVENTION

Earlier part fabricated in CNC, while machining material is getting chip off which could not able to control through speed and feed and making radius 2R is very difficult and rejection rate is more. For holding purpose in CNC extra material required .Due to this disadvantage part is tried in lathe by holding in four jaw chuck by truing face and centre line of the component, it take more time for setting the part and truing. Now from new method truing work can abolished.

SUMMARY OF INVENTION

Previously we are doing the part fabrication in lathe by four jaw chuck by truing face and centre. line of the component. By holding in fixture (shop made from scrap material) so that for truing face and centre line of the component time required is less and save in material cost.

PROCESS DETAIL DESCRIPTION

The existing method of fabrication for the part, the setup time consists of: l)Hold the part in four jaw chuck in lathe.

2) Truing the face and truing the centre mark as per layout.

3) Both these operations have to be repeated twice for each part as the drawing calls for 2.5R on both the face of dia 25 hole in the centre. In this method only 4 or 5 components can be fabricated per shift. Owing to the high set-uptimes, the cost of the production rises and productivity dips down.

4) In the proposed method, we made a special fixture with profile as shown in the enclosure to hold the component in a three jaw chuck. As the fixture as hold in a three self centering Chuck, truing of the centre is abolished completely. This avoids the total set up-time to the greatest extent. To save setting time From tool has designed for 2R forming on both sides no extra material is required for holding the component .Thus in this way cost of manufacturing has been minimized and production rate is increased.
