Abstract: ABSTRACT Hard Landing indicator assembly is used on the main landing gear of LCA aircraft. This assembly is mounted on Main landing gear with usual fasteners. Hard Landing indicator assembly is having two parts fitted one above the other having variable diameter. The bottom part is to be torqued to precise value. Conventional tool could not be used as there was no accessibility to use any tool. This invention describes the design of new split adaptor tool to tighten the parts.

The invention describes the design of split adaptor for tightening the inaccessible part in the hard landing indicator assembly of Light Combat Aircraft (LCA)
BACKGROUND OF INVENTION
Hard Landing indicator assembly (As shown in Fig.l) is one of the main component in the Landing Gear of LCA. While assembling precision torque value is required to tighten the component to assembly, since there is a diameter variation in mounting area, it is inaccessible to use conventional tools. Hence, it was required to design new adaptor tool for installation of Hard Landing Indicator Assembly.
SUMMARY OF INVENTION
Details of mounting points were studied; Special adaptor was designed to accommodate the complicated dimensions of component.
Torque adaptor was designed in two split halves for easy accessibility to the component. Recess was made to the bottom portion in order to hold the slots on the component. Ring spacer was inserted from the top side of the adaptor to hold both halves together while operation. Standard torque wrench was used to tight the assembly with precise torque value specified in the drawing.
CLAIMS
We claim,
1. Half split adaptor concept can be used for torquing of cylinder with step diameters.
2. Precision torque can be achieved.
