, Description:Field of invention

The present invention relates to a device for applying decal or stickers on windshield of a vehicle and more particularly, the present invention relates to applying decal/stickers to vehicles in an organized consistent manner

Background of the invention

Appling decal/self adhesive stickers to an automobile windshield include cleaning the area of the windshield thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or soap and water. Thereafter, the decal or sticker is pasted on the windshield, pressed with hand evenly and then the backing paper of the decal/self adhesive stickers is removed.

However, in conventional method of applying or pasting decal/self adhesive stickers on the windshield, bubbles on the sticker and improper pasting are observed and is a common phenomenon.

The reason behind improper pasting is that the operator pasting the stickers forgets to use a squeeze for pressing the sticker. As the squeeze is small in size, it is not a handy and operator tends to miss the squeeze or misplaces the squeeze.

Further, it is also observed that the position of the decal/self adhesive sticker on the windshield varies from vehicle to vehicle, as the operator select the position for pasting the sticker manually for pasting the sticker.

Specifically, Chinese patent CN204122316 discloses a device for applying adhesive sticker to rubber sealing strip of tail door frame of automobile off line.

Another Korean patent KR20000008726 (A) discloses a device for sticking and removing a sticker for a motor vehicle.

Yet another US patent US5246519A a method for application of a self-adhesive sticker.

However, the patents of the prior art do not solve the problem of bubbles within the sticker after pasting the sticker as well as do not solve the problem of proper and consistent positioning of the sticker on the windshield of the automobile.

Accordingly, there exists a need to provide a device for aligning and applying decal or sticker on the windshield of the vehicle which overcomes abovementioned drawbacks.

Objects of the present invention

An object of the present is to simplify application of decal/self adhesive stickers on the windshield of the automobile.

Another object of the preset invention is to prevent human error during application of decal/self adhesive stickers applying process.

Yet another object of the present invention is to reduce bubbles on the decal/self adhesive stickers applied on the windshield.

Summary of the invention

Accordingly, the present invention provides a device for aligning decal on windshield of an automotive. The device comprises a base plate, a window adapted on the base plate, a track configured on either side of the window, at least two rollers capable of rolling over the track, a shaft connecting the two rollers, and a squeeze connected to the shaft, wherein the squeeze is used to press and stick the decal on the windshield. The device further comprises at least one magnetic arm, wherein the magnetic arm is capable of securing to metal body near the windshield to keep the base plate firm.

Wherein upon mounting the device on the windshield of the automobile, the magnetic arm secures itself to the metal, thereafter operator paste the decal on the windshield and use the squeeze to press the decal and finally remove the backing cover of the decal.

Brief description of the figures

The objectives and features of the present invention will be more clearly understood from the following description of the invention taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, wherein

Figure 1 shows a perspective view of the device for aligning decal on windshield of an automotive, in accordance with the present invention;

Figure 2 shows cross sectional view of the device of figure 1;

Figure 3, 4 and 5 shows a front view, left side view and top view respectively of the device of figure 1.

Detailed description of the present invention:

The foregoing objects of the present invention are accomplished and the problems and shortcomings associated with the prior art, techniques and approaches are overcome by the present invention as described below in the preferred embodiment.

The present invention provides a device (100) for applying an adhesive sticker to a glass, rubber, and metal of an automobile on line vehicle.

Referring now to figure 1-5, there is shown a device (100) for aligning decal on windshield of an automotive, in accordance with the present invention. The device comprises a base plate (10), a window (20) adapted on the base plate (10), a track (30) configured on either side of the window (20), at least two roller (40) capable of rolling over the track (30), a shaft (50) connecting the two rollers (30); a squeeze (60) connected to the shaft (50) and at least one magnetic arm (70).

In an embodiment, the base plate (10) is made of PVC sheet being low in weight as compared to metal sheet. However, it may be evident to those skilled in the art use any other lightweight material for constructions of the base plate (10). The base plate (10) includes the window (20) adapted thereon.

In an embodiment, the window (20) has a length and breadth slightly more than the size of decal to be pasted on the windshield. The widow (20) has the track (30) configured on both side thereof.

In a preferred embodiment, the each track (30) comprises two bars (32a, 32b) configured parallelly and supported by the support member (34) at each end. The rollers (40) move within two parallel bars (32a, 32b). The two bars (32a, 32b) are preferably made of aluminium. Specifically, each track (40) includes at least one roller (40) moving therein.

In an embodiment, the rollers (40) are made up of rubber for easy movement within the track (30). However, it may evident to those skilled in the art that wheels made of metal or plastic can be used. The shaft (50) connects the two rollers (40) moving in each track (30) of both side of the window (20).

The squeeze (60) is connected to the shaft (50). Specifically, the squeeze (60) is used to press and stick the decal on the windshield. The squeeze (50) is capable of rolling over the shaft (50) as the shaft (50) passes through the portion of the squeeze (50). In an embodiment, the squeeze (60) is elongated member having dense structure with one narrow end for pressing the decal on the windshield.

The base plate (10) is also configured with at least one magnetic arm (70). For example, the figure 1 shows two magnetic arms (70). The magnetic arm (70) secures to metal body near the windshield to keep the base plate (10) firm in position, ensure proper gripping and no movement of the base plate (10) in any direction. The magnetic arm (70) is fixed to the base plate (10) by nut (72) and bolts (74) as shown in figure 1.

The device (100) also comprises a handle (80) attached to the base plate (10). The handle (80) is used to carry the device (100) from one vehicle to another vehicle or one place to another place.

Upon mounting the device (100) on the windshield of the automobile, the magnetic arm (70) secures itself to the metal near the windshield of the automobile , thereafter the operator paste the decal/self adhesive sticker within the window (20) and uses the squeeze (60) to press the decal and finally remove the backing cover of the decal.

Advantages of the invention

1. The device (100) simplifies the application of decal/sticker on windshield of the automobile.

2. The device (100) prevents human error during application of decal/sticker process on the windshield.

3. The device (100) reduces bubbles at the decal/sticker applied on the windshield.

4. The device (100) positions the decal/sticker properly on the windshield consistently in n number of vehicles.

The foregoing objects of the invention are accomplished and the problems and shortcomings associated with prior art techniques and approaches are overcome by the present invention described in the present embodiment.
