BACKGROUND
[0002] Background description includes information that may be useful in
understanding the present invention. It is not an admission that any of the information provided herein is prior art or relevant to the presently claimed
) invention, or that any publication specifically or implicitly referenced is prior art.
[0003] Elevator is a type of vertical transportation device that transports
people or goods between floors, levels, decks of a building. A standard elevator is powered by an electric motor that drives traction cable(s) and counterweight system(s) such as hoists so as to raise cylindrical piston(s) configured in the
i elevator. With time and technology, configuration and construction of elevators have also advanced, wherein the elevators are used daily by all types of people ranging from families to business people. With the increasing use and need of elevators, safety requirements/standards for elevators have also enhanced. One of the top areas of elevator safety concerns passenger ingress and egress, and the
) opening and closing of elevator doors.
[0004] In addition to the above, there are additional issues that people face
in their daily routine. For instance, while a person sometimes presses the button of the lift/elevator, for some reason, he/she may opt to go by stairs or he/she may drop the idea to go up itself. Due to this, other passengers who are in the lift at
i that instance face issues as the lift will stop on that floor, thus wasting the time of passengers.
[0005] Conventionally, various elevator systems are developed and have
their strong presence in the markets that provide alarm and calling during an emergency, but these systems are not capable for controlling opening of the door
) based on the presence of people nearby the door.
[0006] There is therefore a need in the art to provide a device that can be
used with the elevators to control opening of the door of the elevator, and that overcomes the above-mentioned and other limitations of the existing solutions and utilized techniques.
