[0003] The distilled liquid in the inverter battery is filled after a period of 6–7 months. It is difficult to remember when the last time liquid was filled. A liquid level indicator vent cap is used to measure liquid level and a check is required to see the liquid level at regular intervals of time. There is no audio signal available to indicate shortage of distilled liquid in battery and consequently the battery may damage. So, there must be some audio signal for the liquid level in the battery.
[0004] Therefore, there is a need in the for a means to provide an indication when liquid level in the battery decreases.

[0033] In another embodiment, the point indicates a predetermine value.
[0034] FIG. 1 illustrates an exemplary representation of a battery assembly with an alarm lid for indicating liquid level, in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0035] Referring to FIG.1, the battery assembly 100 that include battery case mounted on top portion. The battery plates are provided below the battery assembly 100, which has its lower section immersed in the liquid (106).The liquid level is approximately below the surface of the battery casing top plate. The battery case configured to hold the assembly in position. The condition of the liquid is with an acceptable level and also an acceptable liquid density reading within the range.
[0036] In an embodiment, the battery assembly 100 can be configured to indicate low level of a liquid in the battery e.g., inverter batteries. The battery case includes a base, side walls can be coupled to the base and a top portion can be coupled to the side walls. The base, side walls and top portion defining a hollow space adapted for storage of the liquid. The top portion is provided with a hole to provide access to the hollow space.
[0037] In an embodiment, a lid 102 can be provided at the top portion of the battery case and adapted to cover the hole. A cable 104 can be coupled to the lid such that when the lid covers the hole, a predefined length of the cable 104 is inserted into the hollow space. An alarm circuit 200 includes an alarm 204 and a power source 208 to supply power to the alarm 204. The alarm circuit 200 can be coupled to the cable 104 such that when at least a portion of the cable 104 is in contact with the liquid in the hollow space, power supply to the alarm 204 can be restricted.
[0038] In an embodiment, when the liquid 106 in the hollow space reduces to a point where it is not in contact with at least a portion of the cable 104, the power from the power source 208 can be supplied to the alarm 204 to enable to alarm to activate and indicate a requirement for adding liquid 106 to the hollow space of the battery assembly.
[0039] In an embodiment, the battery assembly 100 includes the cable 104 that can be inserted into a single cell of a battery and electrically connected to the alarm circuit 200. The alarm circuit 200 having the alarm 204, which operates when the liquid level is at or below the minimum acceptable level. The alarm circuit 200 configured on the lid that can be provided on top of the battery assembly to determine the level of liquid. The battery assembly can be easily attached to the vent of inverter batteries. The level of the liquid 106 in the inverter batteries must cover the internal battery plates to maintain correct operation.
[0040] In an embodiment, the alarm circuit 200 includes a power supply 208, a resistor 206, transistor, relay 202 and an alarm 204. The resistor 206 can be of 10-ohm and is connected to a transistor BC-547. The positive end of the resistor 206 is connected to a relay of 12-volt and negative end is connected to the battery. The relay 202 is connected between the power supply 208 and the alarm 204. The alarm 204 configured to generate signal e.g., audio signal based on the level of liquid in the container. The alarm 204 includes a buzzer.
[0041] In an embodiment, the single-core cable 104 can be electrically connected to the alarm circuit 200 and can be inserted into the battery assembly 100 contacting the liquid. The first terminal of the single-core cable 104 can be positioned to contact and sense the liquid at the predetermined minimum acceptable level. The second terminal of the single-core cable 104 can be connected to the alarm circuit 200.
[0042] In an implementation, when the liquid 106 contacts the first terminal of the cable 104 a current flowing through the alarm circuit 200 can be at inactive state. As long as the level of the liquid 106 remains in contact with the first terminal, at or above the level, the alarm circuit 200 can be at inactive state. When the level of the liquid drops below the threshold level, the first terminal of the cable 104 cannot sense liquid around the first terminal, and the alarm transmits warning signals to alert the user that liquid level is low. Thus, the user can replenish the liquid in that container based on the alert signal.
[0043] In an embodiment, the alarm circuit 200 can be configured to be at inactive state when the liquid level is at or above the minimum acceptable level. The indication means that the liquid level is low. Thus, the liquid level of the inverter batteries can be determined without removing cap (also referred to as lid, herein). It can automatically remind when battery needs to be replenished, thus user can refill the liquid into battery as early as possible, and thereby increases life time of battery.
[0044] FIG. 2 illustrates an exemplary representation of circuit diagram of alarm cap, in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0045] Referring to FIG.2, the alarm circuit 200 includes a power supply 208, a resistor 206, transistor, relay 202 and an alarm 204. The resistor 206 can be of 10-ohm and is connected to a transistor BC-547. The positive end of the resistor 206 is connected to a relay 202 of 12-volt and negative end is connected to the battery. The battery can be 12-volt direct current (DC).The relay 202 is connected between the power supply 208 and the alarm 204. The alarm can be 10-12mm buzzer. The alarm 204 can be configured to generate an audio signal based on the level of liquid in the container.
[0046] In an embodiment, the transistor BC-547 can be NPN transistor that amplifies the weak signal enter into the base and produces strong amplify signals at the collector end. In NPN transistor, the direction of movement of an electron is from the emitter to collector region due to which the current constitutes in the transistor. Such type of transistor is mostly used in the circuit because their majority charge carriers are electrons which have high mobility as compared to holes.
[0047] In another embodiment, the alarm circuit 200 includes the alarm 204 which provides an indication of current flow. The first end of the alarm 204 is connected to the relay 202 and the second end of the alarm 204 can be connected to the battery. The alarm 204 can be configured to trigger an alert signal, when the cable senses the liquid at the predetermined minimum acceptable liquid level.
[0048] In an embodiment, single-core cable 104 can be electrically connected to the alarm circuit 200 and can be inserted into the battery contacting the liquid 106. The first terminal of the single-core cable 104 can be positioned to contact and sense the liquid 106 at the predetermined minimum acceptable liquid level. The second terminal of the single-core cable 104 can be connected to the sensor.
[0049] In an implementation, when the liquid 106 contacts the first terminal of the cable 104 a current flowing through the alarm circuit 200 can be at inactive state. As long as the level of the liquid remains in contact with the first terminal, at or above the level, the alarm circuit 200 can be at inactive state. When the level of the liquid drops below the threshold level, the first terminal of the cable cannot sense liquid around the first terminal, and the alarm transmits warning signals to alert the user that liquid level is low. Thus, the user can replenish the liquid in that container based on the alert signal.
[0050] FIG. 3 illustrates an exemplary representation of flow chart 300 of indicating liquid level in a battery assembly, in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure. The method 300 includes, inserting 302 a cap inside the battery, and determining 304, by the cable 104, the liquid level from the battery. If the liquid level is below a predetermined minimum acceptable liquid level, then the alarm generates 306 an indication signal to the user. If the liquid level is at or above the predetermined minimum acceptable liquid level, then the alarm remains inactive 308. Thus, the liquid level of the inverter batteries can be determined without removing cap. It can automatically remind when battery needs to be replenished, thus user can refill the liquid 106 into battery as early as possible, and thereby increases life time of battery.
