Abstract: The present invention relates to diamond/cubic boron nitride (CBN) particles coated with a nickel alloy. The coated diamond/CBN particles are employed in the manufacture of the diamond/cubic boron nitride-based grinding wheels. These grinding wheels perform better than the grinding wheels manufactured using the known coated particles. In particular, the present invention pertains to a method of developing a tougher coating on diamond/CBN abrasive particles which are employed in grinding wheels for improved grit holding and high wear resistance thereby increasing the life of the grinding wheel.
