Abstract: The product is mainly used for of domestic gas cylinder usage indication. The product is to be mounted on the cylinder stand. Power for the whole circuitry is provided by battery. The invention includes LED and LCD display to indicate the cylinder usage.Three LEDS are provided to indicate the different gas levels. Even a nontechnical person can easily understand the indications. LEDS uniquely indicate three different gas levels. When the red LED blinks it means that the gas level is nearing empty. Simultaneously the timer stops and number of days the cylinder consumed is displayed in the LCD.
DOMESTIC GAS CYLINDER USAGE MONITOR SYSTEM
TECHNICAL FIELD OF INVENTION
This Invention is to develop a product to monitor the gas level in domestic gas cylinder. This enables, one to check and regulate the usage of the gas cylinder. This product can be used for both Indane and Bharath gas cylinders. Through this monitoring system the life time a gas can be measured for the purpose of optimal usage. Also this system is used to indicate the leakage during the unused time.
SUMMARY OF INVENTION
The main objective of the product is to monitor the gas levels in the LPG gas cylinder. It mainly comprises of microcontroller, weight sensor, LED and LCD displays. Weight sensor and comparator are inputs to the microcontroller. Output units are initiated when the gas level gradually decreases. A switc
COMPONENT SPECIFICATION:
MICROCONTROLLER:
This acts as the brain for the complete system, it is both controlling and processing unit. Depending on the input units it takes up the decision and sends controlling signal to the output units.
SWITCH:
This device can be used for both Indane and Bharath gas cylinders, so this switch helpsto select among these two.
WEIGHT SENSOR:
This device measures the weight of the cylinder and converts it into analog signal which is fed to comparator.
COMPARATOR:
This device compares the weight measured by the sensor and checks whether it is below 75% and feds the output to the microcontroller.
RTC:
This device get initiated by the microcontroller when the cylinder is placed on the stand and stopped when the weight of the gas falls below 95%.
LED:
This is device will be initiated by the processing unit depending upon the comparator output. Three different colors of LED are used.
LCD:
This device will be initiated by the microcontroller to display the number of days the cylinder is actually used.
ADVANTAGES
The main advantage of this invention is
1. Through this device it is possible to measure the weight of the domestic gas cylinder
2. Actual weight of the cylinder can be known before consumption and can be verified whether it is fully filled
3. Partially filled cylinders can be easily identified
4. Emptiness of the cylinder can be easily known before hand
5. Actual number of days the cylinder consumed can be known .
WE CLAIM
1. A system as claimed in claim 1, wherein the system/device for monitoring
' the gas usage level in the domestic gas cylinder.
2. A system as claimed in claim 2, wherein the system will measure the weight of the cylinder
3. A system as claimed in claim 3, wherein the system "will analyze the weight and produce the indications accordingly
4. A system as claimed in claim 4, wherein the system will be used to find the actual number of days a cylinder is consumed.
5. A system as claimed in claim 5, wherein the system consists of three stage of operation weight measuring, analysis and indication.
6. A system as claimed in claim 6, wherein this system uses two different weight standards so that it will be easy for consumer.
7. A system as claimed in claim 7, wherein the device is more compact reliable and can be easily operated by nontechnical person since it has the clear LED and LCD indications.
8. A system as claimed in claim 8, wherein the status monitor of this system can be visualized and analyzed manually.
