The present invention relates to the field of looped fabric particularly to terry towel. The invention further relates to a terry towel having fabric structure of different type on its first and second side. More particularly, it relates to terry towel with one of its sides constructed specially for its application on face and its others side suitable for its application on other parts of the body.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Terry towels are highly absorbent, soft, light weight, and aesthetic and they should be capable of withstanding rough usage, including many launderings, and they should be of such construction as to be capable of economical mass production. For many years, most terry towels have been woven with the terry pile surfaces thereof being entirely of cotton yarns, and in recent years terry towels are formed from of blends of cotton and other material to meet various end uses. Terry towels are often very complex with yarns of different types and colors in combination with various loop pile and flat structures. Towels are subject to changing fashions and the market is constantly demanding new designs with improved fabric characteristics important to the consumer such as softness and absorbency. In satisfying these requirements the content and structure of terry towels are critical in determining the resulting quality.
The production of terry fabrics is a complex process and is only possible on specially equipped weaving machines. Three yarn systems are much preferred in the terry loom compared to the two system types of traditional weaving. The two warps are processed simultaneously for the ground warp with tightly tensioned ends and the pile warp is prepared with lightly tensioned ends. A special weaving method enables loops to be handled with the lightly tensioned warp ends on the surface. Ground warps and pile warps are unwound separately, warped onto two different section beams and sized separately. The processes they undergo show some differences from each other. Weft or filling yarns are wound onto bobbins in required lengths.

In drafting or drawing in ground and pile warps are passed through heddle eyes in the heald frames or harnesses, through ground and pile drop wires and through special terry reeds which have double teeth warps are fed into the loom from two beams, namely from ground and pile warp beams. The tension of the pile warp beam is lower than that of the ground warp beam. This enables the warp beam capable of delivering enhanced length of warps than that of the ground warp beam.

Towels are often over used, probably more than the life time of typical towel. Towels used on different areas of the body which includes sensitive areas and rough areas. In a single colored towel, it is hard to distinguish between the sections/side of a towel that has been used in a certain part of the body, especially when it is wet. Furthermore, a wet towel in combination with a cotton fabric is a breeding place for a whole host of bacteria and fungi that are hazardous when they come in contact with the human skin. Especially it is harmful to use the same sections/side of the towel on sensitive part of the body such as face that contains the vital organs nose, eyes, mouth and ears which are more vulnerable for attack by bacteria.

So it will be advantageous to provide a terry towel such a manner that one of its side is suitable for use on face and the other side for use on other parts of the body such as hand in order to protect the face free from bacteria acquired during use on other parts of the body.

It will be still advantageous to provide a terry towel such a manner that one of its side is suitable for use on face is constructed using different loop forming fiber and the other side for use on other parts of the body such as hand with different loop forming fiber in order to having different quality according to the required use.

It will be still advantageous to provide a terry towel having different colours for easy identification of the side for use on face and side for use on other parts of the body.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
The invention provides a terry towel having one of its side suitable for use on face and the other side suitable for use on other parts of the body such as hand to protect the face free from bacteria acquired during use on other parts of the body.

The towel according to the present invention is constructed such that its first and second sides have two different colors; one side for the body and one side for face. In addition, since cotton towels are an easy breeding place for bacteria and fungi when wet, the towel according to the present invention predominantly uses banana fiber yarn which has inherent anti-bacterial properties and offers enhanced protection to the human skin.

To provide enhanced protection to ensure 99.9% safety, the towel is further topped up with an anti-microbial coating that is extracted from coconut. The final towel is 99.9% safe to the human skin with a distinguishable dual-sided dual colored concept. For making Terry Towel, Ground Warp Beam, Pile warp beam and Weft Yarn are used.

As shown in figure 2 the terry towel has a first side (A) for use on face and a second side (B) for use on other parts of the body. The terry towel comprising first side pile warp (1), second side pile warp (2), first side ground warp (3), second side ground warp (4) and weft (5).

In an embodiment, for the first side (A), the Pile warp (1) used is of 100% Banana Viscose Yarn of count 2/20s and the blend ratio of banana fiber to viscose fiber is 60:40/50:50/40:60. For the second side the Pile warp (2) used is of 100 % cotton.

In the second embodiment, for the first side (A), the Pile warp (1) used is of 100% Aloe Vera Viscose Yarn of count 2/20s and the blend ratio of Aloe Vera fiber to Viscose Fiber is 60:40/50:50/40:60. For the second side the Pile warp (2) used is of 100 % cotton.

In the third embodiment, for the first side (A), the Pile warp (1) used is of 100% Bamboo Viscose Yarn of count 2/20s and the blend ratio of Bamboo Fiber to Viscose Fiber is 60:40/50:50/40:60. For the second side the Pile warp (2) used is of 100 % cotton.
The pile warp (2) used is of 20/2, 30/2, 20/1, 9/1, 11/1, 18/1 counts with 240-255 turns/meter twist.

For the first side ground warp (3) and the second side ground warp (4), 100 % cotton fiber of count 2/20s is used. For the ground warp (3,4) simple as well as twined yarns may be used. The weft yarn (5) used is of 100% Cotton Fiber of 16s & 10s count.

The first side pile warp (1) and the second side pile warp (2) are prepared using warp beam using 2 different colors of dyed yarn. The beam is prepared with every alternative pile warps of first side pile warp (1) and the second side pile warp (2). Pile beam can hold 4440 yarn capacity and the invention uses pie beam having 2220 yarn prepared from Banana Viscose Yarn/Aloe Vera Viscose Yarn/Bamboo Viscose Yarn in one color and 2220 yarns prepared from cotton yarn in another color. Pile Ratio which is the length of pile yarn to the length of terry fabric used is 1:5 and pile height used is 3-7 mm.

By using piles manufactured from two different materials and two different colors double layer towel having first side and second sides manufactured in different colors and materials are created. The different colors enables the identification of first and second side with easy for application on face and other parts of the body or sometimes it may depend upon the Design of the product.
Dyeing:
The dyeing is done using reactive dyes, the dyeing temperature adopted is 100 Deg. and the duration of dyeing is 12 hrs. Sometimes Dyeing is done by using 100% Natural Dyes also. The dyed yarn is converted into warp by Sectional warping or Conventional Warping.

Ground warp is fixed at the bottom of the loom, whereas the Pile beam is mounted at the top of the Loom. Both Ground and Pile yarn is drawn through the heald shaft as per the design required. Two heald shafts are used to control Ground warp yarn and two heald shafts are used to control Pile warp yarn.

The towel according to the present invention is made using Power Loom, Hand Loom Rapier, Sulzer, Air Jet and Water Jet Weaving Machines which has in-built Electronic Dobby Mechanisms. Also it is possible to manufacture the towels using Jacquard looms. Typical parameters employed are Loom speed 280 PPM and more, No of Frame – 14 nos, Pile Ratio 1:5 and pile height – 3-7 mm.

During weaving process, weft yarn is inserted to make the fabric completion. At this stage with the help of heald shaft movement, one color pile warp yarn is upward and another color warp is in downward position in order to form the pile. By using this technique in weaving, terry towels with front and back sides with different color plies are manufactured. This facilitated the creating of double layer banana towel.

The towels are hemmed on all 4 sides with threads, preferably made of Spun Polyester and can be hemmed with Piping in different color of fabric. Over and above the difference in colour, the towels are labeled or embroidered one side with face and other side with body for customers to easily identify the side for use. The towels are further topped up with an anti-microbial coating that is extracted from coconut. The final towel is 99.9% safe to the human skin with distinguishable dual colored sides.
