1. A downcomer of an indurating furnace for a straight grate travel pellet plant comprising brick lining.
2. The downcomer as claimed in claim 1, wherein the brick lining is provided in the elbow zone section of the downcomer of an indurating furnace.
3. The downcomer as claimed in claim 1, wherein the elbow zone of the downcomer is 1.28 m in diameter.
4. The downcomer as claimed in claim 1, wherein the outer diameter of the elbow zone of the downcomer in the indurating furnace is in the range of 1076 mm to 1280 mm.
5. The downcomer as claimed in claim 1, wherein the inner diameter of the elbow zone of the downcomer in the indurating furnace is in the range of 762 mm to 966 mm.
6. The downcomer as claimed in claim 1, wherein the brick lining in the elbow zone of the downcomer has a thickness of 150 mm.
7. Bricks provided for the brick lining in the elbow zone of the downcomer of an indurating furnace, comprising corundum – mullite phase, wherein alumna is present in about 60% weight percentage of the brick, and andalusite is present in about 30% weight percentage in green stage of the brick.
8. The bricks as claimed in claim 7, further comprises iron.
9. The bricks as claimed in claim 8, wherein the iron is present in the range of 0.8 to 1.2 weight percentage of the brick.
10. The bricks as claimed in claim 7, having a length of 230 mm.
11. The bricks as claimed in claim 7, having a thickness 100 mm.
12. The bricks as claimed in claim 7, having a width of 114 mm.

13. A process for pelletizing iron ore pellets in a straight grate travel pellet plant, comprising a) preparing the iron ore by drying and grinding b) pretreating the iron ore to obtain the fines c) balling the fines to obtain green balls and d) induration followed by cooling to obtain the iron pellets;
wherein induration takes place in an indurating furnace comprising a downcomer with a brick lining at the elbow zone of the downcomer.
14. The process as claimed in claim 13, wherein the indurating furnace comprises a) soaking zone; b) preheating zone; c) firing zone and d) cooling zone.
15. The process as claimed in claim 13, wherein the temperature in the soaking zone is about 300°C.
16. The process as claimed in claim 13, wherein the temperature in the preheating zone is in the range of 700 to 750°C.
17. The process as claimed in claim 13, wherein the temperature in the firing zone is in the range of 1250 to 1350°C.
18. The process as claimed in claim 13, wherein the temperature in the cooling zone is in the range of 300 to 900°C respectively.
