Abstract: This invention relates to a drilling fixture for holding a component for drilling operation on drilling machine and thereby facilitating multiple holes in a component. Object of the present invention is to provide a drilling fixture for holding a component and supporting the job thereof to maintain the precise dimensional and positional accuracy to obtain multiple holes. A more specific object of this invention is the improvement in productivity by designing only one fixture for multiple holes and making provision of drilling for all positions

This invention relates to a drill fixture for holding a component for drilling
operation on drilling machine and thereby facilitating multiple holes in a

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
15 This invention pertains to drilling fixture for holding the component for
drilling operation, and more particularly to the job in way that support the work
piece to be drilled on drilling machine by less skilled operator also. An object of
this invention is the provision of a drilling fixture for drilling operation on which
holes are already positioned and located with closer tolerances and capable of
20 drilling in component with high degree of accuracy. This fixture helps to minimize
the setup time and maximize the productivity.

In accordance with one aspect of present invention is to provide a Drilling
Fixture that facilitates holding of a component for drilling operation on a drilling
machine and supporting component the thereof performing the drilling operation
30 with dimensional accuracy and positional accuracy.
In accordance with second aspect of present invention is to provide a
drilling fixture for holding metal plate for accurate positioning of component on
drilling fixture with respect to desired holes position.

drilling fixture for rigid holding of metal plate.
In accordance with yet another aspect of present invention is to provide a
drilling 5 fixture for holding a component and mounting it in fixed position on the
bed of drilling machine.
In accordance with yet another aspect of present invention is to provide a
more rigid and accurate drilling fixture to hold the component.
. In accordance with yet another aspect of present invention is to provide a
10 drilling fixture for holding component for multiple drilling operations in the single
setup.
In accordance with another aspect of present invention is to provide a
drilling fixture to hold the component.
In accordance with yet another aspect of present invention is to provide a
15 drilling fixture that can be properly and effectively utilized to hold and firmly fixed
the component by lesser skilled individuals.
In accordance with yet another aspect of present invention is to provide a
drilling fixture for holding component rigidly (because component thickness is
very less) without creating any distortion in the component.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
The drilling fixture 8 is designed to hold the work piece well positioned as
reference Surfaces given on work piece 9 & rigidity for drilling operation 5 ration of work
piece. Drilling fixture comprise a base plate 1 having a substantially flat top
surface A and bottom surface B. Base plate is made of mild steel. Surface B of
base plate rest on surface C of M/C bed & clamped base plate 1 through 4-C’
bore holes 10 made in base plate 1 on M/c bed.

Resting bung 2 fixed on base plate 1. The work piece 9 rests at top
surface of resting bung 2 the top surface of resting pad 2 is Grinded and parallel
to surface B of base plate 1 within 0.015 mm as shown on sectional front view,
work piece rest on these resting pad 2.

Allen screw 6 fixed with base plate 1 to position the work piece 9 to get
datum position for drilling. Drilling fixture comprise a location pin 4 (std. Dowel
pin) which locate & positioned the component.
Drilling fixture comprise Allen head screw 5,6 and washer 7 to clamped
20 the work piece 9 on the resting bung 2 on surface ‘A’ of the drilling fixture 8.
Dialing face D in base plate 1 used as a datum for the manufacturing of
drilling fixture 8 to maintain the position of all the items as describe above & this
dialing face D is also used to position the drilling fixture when fixing on M/C bed.

1. A drilling fixture for holding a component for drilling operation. The Drilling fixture comprising:
- Base Plate adapted to be coupled to the Drilling machine and provides support to the component.
- Resting bung that support and locate the work piece on the fixture.
-Clamp to rigidly fix the component on fixture.
- Locating Pin for the accurate position of component with respect to Dialling face.
2. The drilling fixture for holding the component of claim 1 wherein, top and bottom surfaces of the base plate 1 are substantially flat and parallel.
3. The drilling fixture for holding the component of claim 1 wherein, bottom surface of the resting bung is mounted on base plate to positioned on the machine.
4. The drilling fixture for holding component of claim 1 wherein, locating pin for accurate positioning of the work piece during the drilling operation.
