Specification

FIELD OF INVENTION
The invention generally relates to a field of mechanical transmission systems and mor particularly to a drive arrangement for effective transmission.
BACKGROUND
A conventional pedal device such as a bi-cycle includes a pair of pedals placed at an intervt of 180 degree from each other. The movement of the pedal device occurs through a pedallin action where an effort applied by a user on the pedals is converted into a rotary motion of wheel. In a standard pedal device, every time we perform the pedalling action, each of the pedt arms rotate for one complete circle making a 360 degree angle. This action produces a torqu which is used to rotate a sprocket wheel. In a typical pedal arm motion in the bi-cycle, it i observed that maximum torque is produced within the range of 45 degree above and 45 degre below the horizontal axis and no torque is produced when the pedals are at the uppermost an the lowermost positions. Since the pedals move uniformly in a circle, there is an appreciabl time wasted during each revolution of the pedals. In addition to this, much effort is wasted fc performing the unproductive part of the pedalling action.
The present invention provides an improved pedal mechanism which enables the rider's effoi to be applied more efficiently than would be possible with a standard pedal mechanism.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

According to an exemplary embodiment of the invention, a drive arrangement is disclosed. The primary objective of the drive arrangement is to provide an effective transmission in a device. The proposed drive arrangement may reduce the human effort and save time that is lost in performing unnecessary movement in a standard pedal arrangement. The drive arrangement. may comprise of a driving part. According to an embodiment, the driving part may be a pedal arrangement. A driving part may include two sprockets. Each of the sprocket may be connected to the other sprocket through a differential bevet gear set. According to an embodiment, the drive arrangement may further comprise of a driven part. The driven part may include two freewheels. The freewheels may be arranged in the driven part in such a way that both the freewheels allow the drive arrangement to move a device in only one direction and prevents the movement in the other direction. According to an embodiment, the drive arrangement may further include an arrangement between the driving part and the driven part. The arrangement may be a communication link between the driving part and the driven part. The drive shaft may work in such a way that on moving each pedal, the other pedal may move equally but in opposite direction.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS
Other objects, features, and advantages of the invention will be apparent from the following description when read with reference to the accompanying drawings. In the drawings, wherein like reference numerals denote corresponding parts throughout the several views:
Figure 1 illustrates a side view of a driving part according to an exemplary embodiment of the invention.

Figure 2 illustrates a top view of the driving part according to an exemplary embodiment of the invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS
The following description with reference to the accompanying drawings is provided to assist in a comprehensive understanding of exemplary embodiments. It includes various specific details to assist in that understanding but these are to be regarded as merely exemplary. Accordingly, those of ordinary skill in the art will recognize that various changes and modifications of the embodiments described herein can be made without departing from the scope and spirit of the invention. In addition, descriptions of well-known functions and constructions are omitted for clarity and conciseness.
According to an exemplary embodiment of the invention, a drive arrangement 100 is disclosed. The drive arrangement 100 may be a mechanical drive arrangement. The drive arrangement 100 may be used in applications such as but not limited to a vehicle, a screw jack, a wheelchair etc. According to an embodiment, the drive arrangement 100 may include a driving part 102. The driving part 102 may be a pedal arrangement 114. According to an embodiment, the pedal arrangement 114 may be a feet driven pedal arrangement. According to another embodiment, the pedal arrangement 114 may be a hand driven pedal arrangement. According to an embodiment, the driving part 102 may further include two sprockets 104a, 104b and a differential bevel gear set 106. Figure 1 illustrates a side view of the drive arrangement 100 according to an exemplary embodiment of the invention. The pedal arrangement 114 of the driving part 102 may include a pair of pedals 114a, 114b. Each of the pedals 114a, 114b may

be connected to a separate sprocket 104a, 104b through a pedal arm. Figure 2 illustrates a top view of the drive arrangement according to an exemplary embodiment of the invention. Each of the sprocket 104a may be connected to the other sprocket 104b through the differential bevel gear set 106. According to an embodiment, the differential bevel gear set 106 may include at least three bevel gears. The arrangement between the sprockets Ifi4a) 104b and differential bevel gear set 106 may be such that the direction of motion each sprocket 104a may be opposite to the other sprocket 104b. According to an embodiment, the pedal arrangement 114 in the drive arrangement 100 may be such that the movement of each pedal 114a may be in an equal and opposite direction to the other pedal 114b. According to an embodiment, the pedal arrangement 114 in the drive arrangement 100 may be such that the pedal 114a meets the pedal 114b twice in a 360 degree pedal movement.
According to an embodiment, the drive arrangement may further comprise of a driven part 108. The driven part 108 may include two freewheels 110a, 110b. The freewheels 110a, 110b may be arranged in the driven part 108 in such a way that both the freewheel 110a, 110b allow the drive arrangement 100 to move a device in only one direction and prevents the movement in the other direction. According to an embodiment, the freewheel 110a, 110b may engage with the driving part 102 in one direction and disengage with the driving part 102 in the opposite direction. The engagement of the driven part 108 with the driving part 102 may enable effort to be applied in one direction and the disengagement of the driven part 108 with the driving part 102 may enable the driving part 102 to move freely in an opposite direction.
According to an embodiment, the drive arrangement 100 may further comprise of an arrangement 112 between the driving part 102 and the driven part 108. The arrangement 112 may be a communication link between the driving part 102 and the driven part 108. According

to an embodiment, the arrangement 112 between the driving part 102 and the driven part 108 may be a chain drive. According to another embodiment, the arrangement 112 between the driving part 102 and the driven part 108 may be a belt drive. According to an embodiment, the drive arrangement 100 may comprise of two communication links. Each of.the communication link may connect each sprocket 104 to each freewheel 110. According to an embodiment, when a pedal 114 is pressed, the direction of movement of each communication link may be opposite to the direction of movement of the other communication link. The proposed drive arrangement 100 may enable the movement of a device in a forward direction without performing a full circle rotation of the pedal arm.
It is understood that the above description is intended to be illustrative, and not restrictive. It is intended to cover all alternatives, modifications and equivalents as may be included within the spirit and scope of the invention as defined in the appended claims. Many other embodiments will be apparent to those of skill in the art upon reviewing the above description.
