, Description:FIELD OF THE INVENTION:
The present invention relates to a monitoring system. The present invention more particularly relates to a driving behavior monitoring system based on Internet of things (IOT).
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION:
In the transportation industry, drivers are business’s best advertisement. Reckless driving and unsafe maneuvers will cause other people on the road to take notice and maybe even avoid your company in the future. Driver behavior and safety training can be difficult to execute efficiently.

In recent years, driver drowsiness and distraction have been important factors in a large number of accidents because they reduce driver perception level and decision making capability, which negatively affect the ability to control the vehicle. One way to reduce these kinds of accidents would be through monitoring driver and driving behavior and alerting the driver when they are drowsy or in a distracted state. In addition, if it were possible to predict unsafe driving behavior in advance, this would also contribute to safe driving.

So there is a need for a fleet management system that monitors driver behavior and sends user real-time alerts to let user know when drivers are unsafe on the road. The present invention helps in monitoring and scoring speeding in residential zones or hard braking. Whatever drivers’ major safety issues are, user can now keep track of them.

The present invention helps in fleet safety faster and keep drivers safe, prevent damage to vehicle, and protect company image. The present invention helps in Unsafe driving behaviors: speeding, hard braking, fast acceleration, Fuel consumption: unnecessary idling, using fuel card for personal vehicles, driving company vehicle outside of work hours. The present invention helps in Driver Identification and help user target bad behavior and save money. The present invention helps in lowering fuel costs, expensive repairs caused by accidents or undue wear and tear, and monitoring vehicle usage to save fuel and preserve mileage.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION:
The main object of the present invention is to provide a driving behavior monitoring system (fleet management system) based on Internet of things (IOT).
Another object of the present invention is to help in Unsafe driving behaviors: speeding, hard braking, fast acceleration, Fuel consumption: unnecessary idling, using fuel card for personal vehicles, driving company vehicle outside of work hours.
Yet another object of the present invention is to help in Driver Identification and help user target bad behavior and save money
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION:
Accordingly, a driving behavior monitoring system (fleet management system) based on Internet of things (IOT) is disclosed. A driving behavior monitoring system (fleet management system) based on Internet of things (IOT) comprising of; Collecting information from vehicles, including GPS coordinates, and sensors; sending the information to a centralized server (database of the website) ; Analyzing the time required for drivers to make deliveries; managing the capture information about how vehicles are being used by drivers; and alerting managers to investigate details to restrict drivers and to keep vehicles secure.
DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS:
Fig 1 is the flowchart of the driving behavior monitoring system (fleet management system) based on Internet of things (IOT).
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION WITH RESPECT TO DRAWINGS:
The present invention helps in reducing the number of road accidents and to monitor driver and driving behavior and alert the driver when he or she is drowsy or in distraction state. The present invention helps to predict unsafe driving behaviors which would contribute to safe driving. The present invention helps to reduce the amount of car crashes by 10- 20% by monitoring and predicting driver and driving behaviors. The present invention is a reliable and robust driver drowsiness and distraction detection system that would send an alert to the driver and thus reduce the number of hazardous situations on the road. The present invention is helpful in preventing road accidents i. e. both monitoring and predicting driver and driving behavior.
In one embodiment, the present invention is used to collect information from vehicles, including GPS coordinates, engine diagnostics and sensors, and send it to a centralized server (database of the website) where it is analyzed and managed using fleet management system. In this way, business leaders can see everything happening with the company vehicles. It is widely used with delivery companies like UPS, which collects data about its trucks not only to determine maintenance schedules but also to monitor how long it takes drivers to make deliveries, how well the drivers navigate traffic and the driver’s skills, all of which can be used to improve service and identify areas where retraining or discipline are needed. The present invention helps customers to get a better sense of their driving habits and quote rates more accurately.
The present invention improves safety, cost savings or both. By monitoring the fleet of vehicles, companies can identify potential problems with vehicles before they start, saving time and expenses for repairs and identify potentially problematic driver behaviors, including aggressive driving, erratic acceleration and handling, excessive or harsh braking and speeding. The information collected allows companies to train or sanction employees who aren’t driving safely, ultimately saving costs and reducing the likelihood of accidents. The present invention capture information about how vehicles are being used; for example, if an employee is making unauthorized trips or not driving where they should, the GPS data will alert managers to investigate. The present invention Collects information about various aspects of the vehicle, such as the temperature of trailers or when and how long doors are opened. This helps to keep vehicles are as efficient as possible, but also adds a layer of security, and makes investigating problems easier.
In another embodiment, A driving behavior monitoring system (fleet management system) based on Internet of things (IOT) comprising of;
a. Collecting information from vehicles, including GPS coordinates, and sensors;
b. sending the information to a centralized server (database of the website) ;
c. Analyzing the time required for drivers to make deliveries;
d. managing the capture information about how vehicles are being used by drivers;
e. alerting managers to investigate details to restrict drivers and to keep vehicles secure.
The sensors are fitted in the vehicles and sensors send data to the microcontroller through GPS.
