Ducted Thrust Producing System With Asynchronous Fan Blade Pitching

Abstract: DUCTED THRUST PRODUCING SYSTEM WITH ASYNCHRONOUS FAN BLADE PITCHING ABSTRACT An actuation assembly (48) for a variable pitch fan (38) for a gas turbine engine (10) is provided. The actuation assembly (48) generally includes a plurality of fan blades (40), a scheduling ring (120), and a plurality of linkage arms (122). The plurality of fan blades (40) are rotatably coupled to a disk (42) and extend radially therefrom. The scheduling ring (120) is rotatable relative to the disk (42) and has a plurality of slots (130). Each of the plurality of linkage arms (122) are operatively coupled to one of the plurality of fan blades (40) and to one of the plurality of slots (130). Each of the plurality of fan blades (40) rotate according to a blade pitch schedule defined by the slot (130) to which it is operatively coupled, and at least two of the plurality of slots (130) define different blade pitch schedules. 17
