Specification

DESC:FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present disclosure relates to the field of public transport system. More particularly, the present disclosure relates to dust capturer device for capturing the accumulated dust in a motor during maintenance to prevent disposal of dust to environment.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Metro cars run in various environmental conditions, and it needs preventive maintenance of its critical equipment like traction motor. Traction motors are typically mounted in the metro cars where the wheels are housed. Traction motors are powered by electricity and generate the power to rotate the wheels of the vehicle. The turning force produced by traction motors is transmitted to the wheels via the driving gear unit and axle.
As the traction motors are suspended to the axles of wheel, the possibility of inspection and maintenance is possible only at dedicated location in maintenance depot. Further any repair of traction motor requires removal from the metro car which results in down time. In this aspect, cleaning the accumulated dust during service is an important activity to maintain the life of the traction motor.
Dust blowing for traction motor needs to be performed by blowing with high pressured air inside rotor holes of the traction motor to remove the accumulated dust, without dismantling the traction motor from bogie and vehicle.
Therefore, there is a need for a dust capturer device for avoiding disposal of dust to environment.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
The present disclosure discloses a dust capturer device for capturing the accumulated dust in a motor during maintenance to prevent disposal of dust to environment which is adapted to be positioned between the motor and a dust collection drum. Figure 5 illustrates a dust capturer attachment for traction motor.
The proposed disclosure aids preventive maintenance and prevents premature failure of the traction motor caused due to overheating of rotor & stator bearing, mechanical issues like abnormal noises, vibrations and avoid motor over temperature and over current. Also enhances the life of the traction motor. Additionally, this prevents the accumulated dust from being exposed to the environment.
The proposed disclosure uses a dust capturer attachment which acts as mechanical interface between the traction motor and dust collection drum. Fig. 3 illustrates dust capturer attachment of traction motor. Fig. 8 illustrates a dust capturer attached to non-drive end of traction motor in mounted condition.
During dust blowing of the traction motor, closing of all the openings of traction motor has to be ensured by suitably covering the air inlet mesh using cover plate as shown in Fig. 4 to avoid disposal of dust to environment and proper capture of dust only in the dust collection drum. Fig. 6 illustrates a covering plate with clips. Fig. 7 illustrates a covering plate secured with clips attached to drive end of the traction motor in mounted condition.
During preventive maintenance of traction motor, the air blow hole cover plate (10), exhaust nest plate (11), inlet filter secured with clips (4) in traction motor is removed as shown in Fig. 1
Further the covering plate with locking the clips (3) and dust capturer attachment (2) is installed by securing with lashing strap padded with cam locking buckle (6) attached with hooks (5), clean the inside rotor holes of the traction motor to remove the accumulated dust with the air blow and dust collection drum through dust capturer attachment in traction motor as shown in Fig. 2 without dismantling the traction motor from bogie and vehicle.
The proposed invention is suitable for self-ventilated traction motors used in metro cars and can be adapted for different designs of traction motors. The dust capturer attachment is mechanically coupled between the traction motor and dust collection drum, and it is easy to maintain, enhances the life of the traction motor and disposal of dust to the environment is avoided.
In one of the preferred embodiments, a dust capturer device (2) for capturing the accumulated dust in a motor (1) during maintenance to prevent disposal of dust to environment, adapted to be positioned between the motor (1) and a dust collection drum. The dust capturer comprises a curved top portion (7) adapted to receive blown dust and attached to hooks (5) at both ends. A longitudinally symmetrical irregular pentagon shaped middle receptacle portion (8) integrated to top portion (7) adapted to collect dust received from top portion (7). A short tubular bottom portion (9) open at both ends integrated to middle receptacle portion (8) adapted to receive and pass on dust from middle receptacle portion (8) to a dust collection drum.
• In accordance with the invention, the dust capturer device is coupled to a U-shaped short necked covering plate(3) for avoiding disposal of dust to environment adapted to cover holes of air inlet mesh of said motor(1) while blowing air to remove dust thereby ensuring capturing of dust only in the dust collection drum.
In accordance with the invention, the dust capturer device secured to motor (1) with lashing strap(6) padded with cam locking buckle.
In some aspects of the present disclosure, the dust capturer device adapted to collect dust on rotor holes of the motor(1) by blowing air through air blow hole after removing air blow hole cover plate (10), exhaust nest plate (11) and inlet filter secured with clips (4).In some aspects of the present disclosure the dust capturer device wherein the motor(1) comprises a traction motor(1).
