BACKGROUND
[0002] Background description includes information that may be useful in understanding the present invention. It is not an admission that any of the information provided herein is prior art or relevant to the presently claimed invention, or that any publication specifically or implicitly referenced is prior art.
[0003] People have to travel daily from home to office and back again that takes a lot of time. While travelling, they may hear music, news, or prefer talking with their relatives and friends, in order to pass their time. They prefer to use ear phones for all such things as it results in minimum disturbances to others, and moreover, it provides some privacy to them. Moreover, people use ear buds to mitigate unwanted noise while sleeping.
[0004] However, existing ear tips of earphones are not very comfortable to wear for long durations and may leave an unpleasing feeling of stiffness when removed. Main issues associated with the existing ear tips are that they do not provide any ventilation inside the ear canal as well as it does not fit into the ear perfectly because the ear tips make a curved shape and therefore a gap remains there, which is the major cause of interference of external voice as noise.
[0005] There are various types, style and materiel and size of ear tips that exist in the market but none of them have any additional features of providing ventilation. As there is no ventilation, it in turn promotes rapid growth of bacteria and constant fatigue inside the ear canal.
[0006] Many raw material and design changes are done in the existing ear tips, to overcome the fitting and comfort issues, but then also some limitations are there. Existing rubber ear tips have a very tight seal inside the canal but they tend to be the hardest tip material and are very uncomfortable. They cause skin allergies and may also results in reaction from contact and also can't be cleaned easily.
[0007] Foam type ear tips are widely considered to be the most comfortable option but they are less durable and tend to attract more dirt and earwax. Another drawback is that they do not have a long life and cannot be cleaned easily.
[0008] There is, therefore, a need in the art to provide a means to overcome the above-mentioned problems, and to provide a user-friendly solution.

[00030] Each of the appended claims defines a separate invention, which for infringement purposes is recognized as including equivalents to the various elements or limitations specified in the claims. Depending on the context, all references below to the "invention" may in some cases refer to certain specific embodiments only. In other cases it will be recognized that references to the "invention" will refer to subject matter recited in one or more, but not necessarily all, of the claims.
[00031] The present invention relates generally to wearable instruments and appliances. More particularly, the present disclosure relates to ear tips.
[00032] FIG. 1 illustrates exemplary structural diagrams of the proposed ear tip 100to illustrate its overall working in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure.
[00033] In an embodiment, as illustrated in FIG. 1, the proposed ear tip 100 (interchangeably referred to as ear tip 100, hereinafter) can be used by an entity for passive noise isolation, or to block outer noise. In another embodiment, the ear tip 100 can be fixated at an ear piece 110 of earphones that can be connected with a smart phone, laptop, i-pod, and the likes, where the ear tip can be easily fixed in an ear of the user, thereby, facilitating him/ her to hear sounds transmitted from said devices.
[00034] In an embodiment, the ear tip 100 can include a funnel shaped inner support member 102, and an outer cover 104, where the outer cover 104 can be coupled to the inner member 102 such that a gap is created between the outer cover 104 and the funnel shaped inner support member 102.
[00035] In an embodiment, the ear tip 100 can include a plurality of flexible scales 106-1, 106-2… 106-N(collectively referred to as flexible scales 106, and individually referred to as flexible scale 106, hereinafter) that are configured between an outer surface of the funnel shaped inner support member 102 and an inner surface of the outer cover 104.
[00036] In an embodiment, the outer cover 104 can include a plurality of holes 108-1, 108-2, 108-3… 108-N (collectively referred to as holes 108, and individually referred to as hole 108, hereinafter) to allow passage of air. In an embodiment, the holes 108 can be arranged in a predefined pattern on the outer cover 104. In an embodiment, the holes 108 configured at the ear tip 100 can facilitate ventilation, thereby, passage of air that mitigates the possibility of growth of microbes in ears that may develop due to continuous usage of the ear tip 100. In another embodiment, passage of air through the holes 108 can facilitate in reducing stuffy feeling inside the ears even when the ear tips 100 are used for a long time.
[00037] In an exemplary embodiment, the holes 108 can be configured such that distance between two consecutive holes is continuously increasing from a front portion of the outer cover 104 to an end portion of the outer cover 104. In another exemplary embodiment, the holes 108 can be configured to form diamond-shaped structure on the outer cover 104 to gain strength to structure of the outer cover 104. In another exemplary embodiment, a diameter of each of the holes 108 can be in micrometres.
[00038] In an exemplary embodiment, the outer cover 104 and the flexible scales 106 can be made from any or a combination of silicone and rubber.
[00039] In an embodiment, the flexible scales 106 can be configured to retract and expand based on a force exerted on the outer cover 104. In an exemplary embodiment, the scales 106 can retract while inserting the ear tip 100 in an ear canal, and can expand when the ear tip 100 is placed at a desired depth in the ear canal.
[00040] In an embodiment, the ear tip 100 can be made using injection moulding process. In an exemplary embodiment, in the injection moulding process, raw material, such as silicone and rubber, is fed into a heated barrel, then properly mixed and injected into a mould cavity, where it gets cooled and gets hardened to take a specific shape as per the configuration of the mould cavity.
[00041] In an exemplary embodiment, a pair of identical ear tips 100 can be configured such that each of the ear tip 100 can be adapted to be fixed in any of the ears of an entity. In another exemplary embodiment, a pair of identical ear tips 100 can be configured such that a first ear tip 100 can be adapted to be fixed in right ear of the entity, and a second ear tip 100 can be adapted to be fixed in left ear of the entity.
[00042] FIG. 2 illustrates exemplary representation of holes 108 configured in the proposed ear tip 100, in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure.
[00043] In an exemplary embodiment, the holes 108 can be configured at the outer cover 104 of the ear tip 100 to form diamond-shaped structures that provide elasticity as well as robustness to the ear tip 100.
[00044] While the foregoing describes various embodiments of the invention, other and further embodiments of the invention may be devised without departing from the basic scope thereof.
