The present invention generally relates to an Eco-Gear for application in fuel burning tractor engine and the method of its operation thereof, particularly for the tractor transmission in 50-75 HP Category. The ECO Gear box consists of an overdrive gear and an electrical switch, wherein once the Eco-Gears are engaged in eco mode, the electrical switch transmits signal to engine ECU / Engine throttle Solenoid so as to reduce the Engine rpm which results into better fuel Economy at partial load condition. Said Eco-Gear is characterized in achieving 1500 engine rpm and providing travel speed in the range of 30 Km/hr. to 38 Km/hr. to the tractor in haulage application, depending upon the load on the said tractor, and more preferably to provide a travel speed of 34 km/hr. As the engine runs at 1500 rpm, it burns less amount of fuel leading to fuel saving without losing productivity at partial or without load condition, which otherwise would have been lost at engine rated rpm.
BACKGROUND AND PRIOR ARTS:
Tractors are Multi utility machine used for Agricultural application. Due to its high load carrying capacity its use in haulage application is also increasing day by day. As Tractor is considered Agri Machinery,as per Indian standard, its speed is limited up to 40 km/hr. This regulation creates major disadvantage in using tractors in haulage application as tractor
engine needs to be run at full throttle to get travelling speed of 40 km/hr irrespective of load on tractor. Increasing the throttle means increasing the fuel consumption in the engine.
Such practice of running the tractor engine at full throttle to achieve the allowed maximum travel speed of around 40 km/hr may be considered as an acceptable practice of the user, only for fully loaded tractor so as to have sufficient torque and speed. However, in case of partially loaded condition or without any load on the tractor trolley, running the tractor engine at full throttle to achieve the allowed maximum travel speed of around 40 km/hr unnecessary burns more fuel, affecting the farmer's economy. Not only thefuel prices are increasing day by day, but also the environmental concerns are increasing and therefore it is the need of the present time to overcome the issue of regulating the throttle effectively towards achieving higher acceleration (or speed) for travelling tractor at reduced fuel consumption.
The present invention is intended to provide an ECO-friendly mechanism for regulating power transmission in tractor, particularly in haulage application, at reduced fuel consumption.
Prime object of the present invention is to provide an ECO-friendly system for power transmission in fuel burning tractor engine and the method thereof, that is, to provide an an Eco-Gear for application in fuel burning tractor engine and the method of its operation thereof, particularly for the tractor transmission in 50-75 HP Category.
Another object of the present invention is to provide an an eco-gear for application in fuel burning tractor engine and the method of its operation thereof; wherein said Eco-Gear comprises an Overdrive Input Gear, which at 1500 engine rpm is provisioned to provide a travel speed in the range of 30 Km/hr. to 38 Km/hr. to the tractor in haulage application, depending upon the load on the said tractor, and more preferably to provide a travel speed of 34 km/hr.
Another object of the present invention is to provide an Eco-Gear for application in fuel burning tractor engine and the method of its operation thereof, characterized in the fact that the engine running at 1500 rpm, burns lesser amount of fuel (with respect to conventional power transmission means), leading to fuel saving without losing productivity at partial or without load condition, which otherwise would have been lost at engine rated rpm.
Another object of the present invention is to provide an Eco-Gear for application in fuel burning tractor engine and the method of its operation thereof, wherein:-
• the Gear box is equipped with Eco-Gear as shown in below Figure 1, which can be engaged in Eco mode, once the operator operates theGear Shifting Lever (Figure 2) which is housed within the Gear Shifting Housing;
• an Electrical switch (Figure 2) is also provisioned within the Gear Shifting Housing, which gets activated when said Eco-Gears are engaged; and
• When engaged, said Electrical Switch transfers Signal to Engine ECU (Figure 3) (CRDI engine) towards communicating it to reduce engine RPM to 1500 rpm.
Another object of the present invention is to provide an Eco-Gear for application in fuel burning tractor engine; wherein the method of operation of said Eco-Gear is characterized in the completely automated and highly comfortableprocess for transferring signals from Eco-Gear to the Engine ECU towards reducing engine RPM to 1500 so as to achieve higher speed with substantial fuel saving.
Another object of the present invention is to provide an Eco-Gear for application in fuel burning tractor engine and the method of its operation thereof, wherein another optional variant of this control mechanism is compatible with Non CRDI engine; wherein this variant, instead of giving signal to ECU of engine, it gives signal to Solenoid which in turns pulls the engine throttle to reduce engine rpm to 1500 rpm, when ECO Mode is engaged.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION:
The present invention discloses a specific mode of power transmission from fuel burning engine in tractor, wherein it comprises an Overdrive Input Gear, which at 1500 engine rpm gives travel speed in the range of 30
Km/hr. to 38 Km/hr. to the tractor in haulage application, depending upon the load on the said tractor, and more preferably to provide a travel speed of 34 km/hr. As the engine runs at 1500 rpm, it burns less amount of fuel leading to fuel saving without losing productivity at partial or without load condition, which otherwise would have been lost at engine rated rpm.
Brief Description:
Eco-Gear box is equipped with Eco-Gear as shown in below Figure 1, which can be engaged with Gear Shifting Lever (Figure 2).Said Gear Shifting Lever is housed in Gear Shifting Housing. An Electrical switch (Figure 2) is also there, which gets activated when Eco-Gears are engaged.
When engaged, said Electrical SwitchtransfersSignal to Engine ECU (Figure 3) (CRDI engine) towards communicating it to reduce engine Rpm to 1500 rpm. Thus the complete process is automated resulting in high comfort and high fuel saving.
There isanother Variant of this control mechanism also which is compatible with Non CRDI engine. In thisvariant, instead of giving signal to ECU of engine, said Electrical Switch gives signal to Solenoid which in turns pulls theengine throttle to reduce engine rpm to 1500 rpm when ECO Mode is engaged.

In case of CRDI engine (6), as indicated in the Block-Diagram of Figure 4, the Operator operates the Gear Shifting Lever (8) for actuating the transmission in Eco-Gears and Eco-Gear (2) get engaged in Eco mode, said Electrical Switch (4) transfers Signal through the Electrical Switch (4) to the Engine ECU (5) so as to reduce the Rpm of the Engine (7) to 1500 rpm. Thus the complete process is automated resulting in high comfort and high fuel saving.
There is another variant of this control mechanism, which is compatible with Non CRDI engine. In case of Non CRDI engine (6), as indicated in the Block-Diagram of Figure 5, in case of Non CRDI engine (6), as indicated in the Block-Diagram of Figure 5, that the Operator operates the Gear Shifting Lever (8) for actuating the transmission in Eco-Gears and once the Eco-Gear (2) get engaged in Eco mode, said Electrical Switch (4) gives signal to Solenoid (10) which in turns pulls the engine throttle (9) to reduce the Rpm of the Engine (6) to 1500 rpm and thus the complete process is automated resulting in high comfort and high fuel saving.
