As such about 75% of earth surface is occupied with water in the form of sea, ocean, glaciers etc but hardly 2% water is suitable for drinking purpose. So day by day demand of drinking water is increasing, to meet the demand of suitable water for drinking purpose, there is need to develop new methods of water treatment as well as smart methods for conversion of water available into drinking purpose. For this effort has been made in this work. In this study, agriwaste like wheat/rice husk, fruit peels like orange peels, chitosan vinegar/acetic acid has been used to prepare a sheet which can adsorb most of the toxic metals, pollutants present in river water or pond other water available at open resources.
As such water is available in large quantity on earth, but major problem to convert it or make it suitable for drinking purpose. As such water available at ground or river water or pond, different pollutants are present in the form of toxic metals, high BOD, COD, Suspended solids total dissolved solids, high hardness, high or very low pH level and color.
People have to move from one place to another and all time people cannot have appropriate quantity of water for drinking purpose. To provide the alternate quick method, this ecofriendly sheet/bag has been developed and prepared which can be carried by anybody or it can be cut in disposable size or which can be used as to dip in simple river of other water available, so that pollutants are reduced by adsorption and it becomes suitable upto large extent for the people.
In this work, all ecofriendly materials are used, chitosan is a natural polymer which is obtained from chitin, i.e. grinded and solubilized with vinegar or acetic acid with some heating and mixing (step-1). Agri/Rice husk with some peels of orange is separately taken in a beaker or reactor flask with little quantity of water and then boiled it for 1-2 hrs and sodium alginate is added by varying the quantity, till we get soft pulpy material. This pulp material is mixed with chitosan as prepared in first step, mixing is done properly and dough is prepared which is pressed /rolled with the help of pressurized sheet maker of roller to get thick sheet of about 1-2 mm this sheet is dried in tray drier. Dried sheet is tested for adsorbing pollutants present in ground water or river water.
After adsorbing the pollutants by filtration through the film, it was observed that almost all toxic metals were adsorbed, hardness reduced and found in the range of 100-150 ppm, pH in 6 to 8.5 range. which is suitable for drinking purpose. A rectangular sheet is cut (size 3x2 inch) it is taken to adsorb pollutant from100 ml river water just for 1-2 mins, or water can have filtered. Efficiency of sheet/bag can be increased by increasing thickness of film/sheet.

EXAMPLE 1
EXPERIMENTAL SECTION
In this invention, Green technology has been used to prepare disposable water purifier bags/dip bags from agriwaste/fruit waste
Agricultural waste like wheat straw or rice husk, along with selected fruit peel waste (like orange peels or pomegranate peels or coconut shell powder or husk has been used as main material.
Second material required is chitosan powder obtained from natural polymer chitin, then vinegar or acetic acid has been used along with salt of alginic acid (natural polysaccharide). Salt may by sodium alginate or potassium alginate.
In this work, all eco-friendly materials are used. In first step chitosan which is a natural polymer taken in grinded form and solubilised with vinegar or acetic acid with some heating and mixing (step-1)
Agri/Rice husk is mixed with variable quantity of some fruit peel waste powder (orange/pomegranate /coconut). Mixed powder is separately taken in a beaker or reactor flask with little quantity of water and then boiled it for 1-2 hrs and sodium alginate is added by varying the quantity, till we get soft pulpy material.
After adsorbing the pollutants by filtration through the film, it was observed that almost all toxic metals were adsorbed, hardness reduced and found in the range of 100-150 ppm, pH in 6 to 8.5 range, which is suitable for drinking purpose.
A rectangular sheet is cut (size 3x2 inch. Inch) it is taken to adsorb pollutant from100 ml river water just for 1-2 mins, or water can be filtered.
Parameter reduction ( by using prepared sheet)
Parameter Normal river water sample After Adsorption with 1-2 mm sheet
After Adsorption with double layer of sheet
TSS( ppm)) 60-120 10-20 5-10
TDS ( ppm) 250-350 120-150 80-110
BOD 5-10 0 0
COD 30-60 0-5 0-2
Hardness ( ppm) 220-350 120-180 100-150

By the results in table 1, it can be observed that single layer dip bag sheet can remove almost 70 to 80% pollutants while double layer can remove all undesirable pollutants as we get TDS in the range of 80 to 110 (ppm), BOD almost nil, COD, almost nil, hardness about 100-150 ppm which is ok for drinking water. In this way we can meet almost all standards of safe water.
ADVANTAGES OF THE INVENTION:
By this invention, so by using this disposable dip kit we can purify almost normal water available. It is eco-friendly and economical.
