DESC:Technical Field of the Invention
The utility model discloses an electric fan with a mosquito repelling function. More particularly to an electric fan comprising an ultrasonic element that generates ultrasonic waves which repels mosquitoes.
Background of the Invention
Insects, primarily mosquitoes, and rodents can be an annoyance for human activities and pose a health danger due to the transmission of diseases. Current technology for abating insects and rodents generally includes insecticides, insect repellents, insect electrocution devices, citronella candles, smoldering combustion materials, and collection devices. Many of these insect and rodent abatement devices are safe for neither humans nor the environment; they have limited mobility; and they have limited use time associated with their utilization. These are problems which the current invention solves. An ultrasonic insect and rodent abatement system.
Mosquitoes are becoming one of the most harmful insects as they are spreading many diseases like malaria, elephantiasis, yellow fever, etc. through its bites. Especially kids are very susceptible to the misquote bites. There are many types of mosquito killing / repelling methods such as killer spray, oils, coils, perfumes, etc. which cause many side effects such as breathing problems and skin diseases.
In order to overcome the above limitations, there is need to develop an efficient mosquito repellent that does not create any side effects.
Brief Summary of the Invention
The field of the invention relates to the development of mosquito repellent ceiling fan that generates high frequency ultrasonic waves which repel the mosquitoes away.
Accordingly, it is a primary objective of the present invention to provide a ceiling fan with ultrasonic insect and rodent repellent device which is thereby advantaged over current technologies.
The primary object of the invention is the mosquito repellent device comprises a driver circuit which activates the Piezo electric buzzer to generate and transmit the high frequency ultrasonic waves which repel the mosquitoes away.
The primary object of the invention is to generate a range of the high frequency ultrasonic waves. These generated ultrasonic waves and sounds are very irritating to insects like mosquitoes and they fly away from the room.
The present invention addresses the need for a versatile and ecologically sound means to repel mosquitoes and other insects by utilizing an ultrasonic device combined with a static fan like ceiling fan.
This invention can use a multiplicity of frequencies, giving it broad ranges of use, long-term use, portability and autonomy from the standard power grid. By combining an electronic ultrasonic repelling device with a thermoelectric solid-state power generating device, a superior insect abatement system is achieved.

Detailed Description of the Invention
In accordance with a preferred embodiment of the invention, these and other objects and advantages are addressed as follows. A ceiling fan with an ultrasonic repellent for repelling mosquitoes and other insects is disclosed, wherein the ultrasonic repellent includes at least one ultrasonic element that generates ultrasonic waves which repel mosquitoes. As varied species reacts in different frequencies, the repellent is characterized to generate a range of ultrasonic frequencies, to repel the mosquitoes in a place.
There exists at least three units in the circuitry, a power supply, a microcontroller part and at least one ultrasonic buzzer driver circuitry. In accordance with a preferred embodiment of the invention, these are in built with fan circuitry which can be controlled by the fan’s remote.
Referring to the drawings, FIG. 1a and 1b illustrates a cross sectional view (100a & 100b) depicting the mosquito repellent device (112) mounted on the ceiling fan (102) according to the present invention. The mosquito repellent (112) is placed on a mosquito repellent holder (106) which comprises a driver circuit (118) to supply power to activate a piezo electric buzzer (330), the Piezo electric buzzer (330) generates and transmits high frequency ultrasonic waves, a diffuser (120) with a plurality of vents (204) to supply ultrasonic waves without any obstacles, a remote controller (324) for a user to start the mosquito repelling feature (112) embedded to the electric fan (102) and a micro controller unit (326) to receive signal from the said remote controller (324) and communicates to the driver circuit (118) wherein the buzzer (330) is activated to repel the mosquitoes away.
A mosquito repellent holder (106) is mounted on the shaft (110) of the fan (102) below a motor cover (108) which comprise a mosquito repellent (112) with a microcontroller (326) and a diffuser (120). A nylon holder is assembled on the ceiling fan (102) on which the Piezo electric buzzer (330) is mounted which generates and transmits high frequency ultrasonic waves. The micro controller (326) placed in the mosquito repellent holder (106) receives signal from the said remote controller (324) and communicates to the driver circuit (118) and activates the buzzer (330) to repel the mosquitoes away. The buzzer (330) and the micro controller (326) are stationary and are mounted on shaft (110) between two rotating parts. At most care is taken to ensure that the rotating parts do not touch with the stationary parts.
FIG. 2 illustrates a bottom view (200) of the fan depicting the assembly of diffuser (220) along with the mosquito repellent according to the present invention. The smart ceiling fan (202) is assembled with a diffuser (220) at the bottom false cover of the fan (202). In this invention the diffuser (220) is modified by providing a plurality of vents (204) on the bottom false cover of the fan (202), so that the device can transmit ultrasonic waves without any obstacles.
FIG. 3 Illustrates a block diagram (300) depicting the working of the mosquito repellent device (112) according to the present invention. The mosquito repellent device (112) mounted on the shaft (110) of the fan (102) as shown in Fig. 1b comprises a remote controller (324), a micro controller unit (326), a driver circuit (328) and a piezo electric buzzer (330). When the user switches ON the remote controller (324) to initiate the mosquito repellent (112) function of the electric fan (102) as shown in Fig. 1b, then the micro controller unit (326) receives the remote signal (324) and activates the driver circuit (328) to supply power to the Piezo electric buzzer (330). Then the piezo electric buzzer (330) generates a range of high frequency ultrasonic waves with a sweep of 30 KHz to 80 KHz. This range swipes away most of the insects and pests out of the room. The sound produced by the ultrasonic waves irritates the insects, so that they will fly away or do not enter into the room.
As ceiling fan is being placed at height so inbuilt waves have a good range and access to all the corners in the room effectively.
The design mosquito repellent does not create any side effects and the maintenance is very easy and no additional cost is involved.
The features and advantages of the invention may be realized and obtained by means of the instruments and combinations particularly pointed out in the appended claims.
