Electric Motor Fan And Compressor
Abstract: This invention provides an electric motor that maintains a high degree of reliability even if lightweight aluminum wires are used in coil windings. In said electric motor which has a rotor and a stator (1) in which a plurality of windings are wound within slots at least one of said windings comprises a single aluminum wire (7) a single copper wire (6) spliced to said aluminum wire (7) a twisted wire (a lead wire (5)) spliced to said copper wire (6) a cold weld (a splice (67)) where the aluminum wire (7) and the copper wire (6) are spliced together via cold welding and a non weld splice (a splice (56)) between the copper wire (6) and the twisted wire (lead wire (5)). A burr (67A) covered by an insulating member (an insulating tube (9)) is present on the cold weld (splice (67)) and the thickness of said insulating member (insulating tube (9)) is greater than the height of the burr (67A).
