Electric Power Steering Device
Abstract: This electric power steering device is provided with: a front wheel turning mechanism that is provided at the front wheels of the vehicle and that has a front wheel turning motor as a driving source; and a rear wheel turning mechanism that is provided at the rear wheels of the vehicle and that has a rear wheel turning motor as a driving source wherein the rear wheel turning motor is structured to be a double inverter type three-phase duplex motor having two sets of three-phase windings and two sets of inverters that drive the three-phase windings respectively. Since the function of the rear wheel turning mechanism can be continued in case of failure of the turning motor of the rear wheel turning mechanism stability of vehicle behavior can be ensured.

We Claim:
[Claim 1] An electric power steering device, comprising:
a front-wheel steering mechanism, which is provided to front
wheels of a vehicle, and includes a front-wheel steering motor as
a drive source; and
a rear-wheel steering mechanism, which is provided to rear
wheels of the vehicle, and includes a rear-wheel steering motor
as a drive source,
wherein the rear-wheel steering motor is configured to be a
double-inverter three-phase duplex motor, the double-inverter
three-phase duplex motor including two three-phase windings and
two inverters each configured to individually drive one of the two
three-phase windings.
[Claim 2] An electric power steering device, comprising:
a front-wheel steering mechanism, which is provided to front
wheels of a vehicle, and includes a front-wheel steering motor as
a drive source; and
a rear-wheel steering mechanism, which is provided to rear
wheels of the vehicle, and includes two rear-wheel steering motors
each serving as a drive source,
wherein the rear-wheel steering motor is configured to be a
single-inverter three-phase motor, the single-inverter
three-phase motor including a three-phase winding and an inverter
configured to drive the three-phase winding.
[Claim 3] The electric power steering device according to claim 1, wherein the rear-wheel steering mechanism includes two rear-wheel steering motors.
[Claim 4] The electric power steering device according to any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein the front-wheel steering motor is configured to be a double-inverter three-phase duplex motor, the double-inverter three-phase duplex motor including two three-phase windings and two inverters each configured to individually drive one of the two three-phase windings.
[Claim 5] The electric power steering device according to any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein the front-wheel steering mechanism includes two front-wheel steering motors, the two front-wheel steering motors each being configured to be a single-inverter three-phase motor, the single-inverter three-phase motor including a three-phase winding and an inverter configured to drive the three-phase winding.
[Claim 6] The electric power steering device according to claim 4, wherein the front-wheel steering mechanism includes two front-wheel steering motors.
