There is suggested an electronic circuit for protection of SC Coil against over-voLtages and for fast detection and protection of SC coil against quench comprising the followinga) a plurality of tap points from SC coil separating it into a plurality of coil sections,b) each coil section having a differential voltage sensor, followed by,c) an adjustable gain amplifier as necessary,d) each said sensor being referenced to a common ground potential,e) said amplifier, being connected to a set of diodes in a bridge fashion,f) the anode of the bridge being connected to +ve terminal of control power supply througha set of resistors,g) the cathode of the bridge being connected to -ve terminal of control power supplythrough a set of resistors,h) a differential amplifier being associated with the said anode voltage and cathode voltagefollowed by,i) a logic circuit to detect the quench fault, when developed, j) a differential amplifier used for sensing coil section voltages being connected to a voltageadder circuit whose output point is connected to a voltage magnitude comparator circuithaving its output connected to the said logic circuit to detect coil over voltage whendeveloped.
