Claims [Claim 1] An elevator device, comprising:
a car movable in a vertical direction of the elevator device inside a hoistway;
an on-car handrail provided to an upper surface of the car; and
a trigger member fixed inside the hoistway,
the on-car handrail comprising a handrail height varying portion,
the handrail height varying portion comprising a fixed handrail portion fixed to the upper surface of the car, a movable handrail portion provided to an upper end portion of the fixed handrail portion, and an engagement mechanism portion provided to the movable handrail portion,
wherein the movable handrail portion is displaceable between an upright position at which the movable handrail portion is upright on an upper end portion of the fixed handrail portion and a tilt Position at which the movable handrail portion is tilted with respect to the upper end portion of the fixed handrail portion,
wherein the car is moved upward to push down the engagement mechanism portion with the trigger member so that the movable handrail portion is displaced from the upright position to the tilt Position, and
wherein, when the movable handrail portion is located at the tilt position, the movable handrail portion projects out of a region

of the car when the car is viewed from above.
[Claim 2] An elevator device according to Claim 1, wherein the trigger member is arranged above a position of the engagement mechanism portion when the car is stopped at a top floor.
[Claim 3] An elevator device according to Claim 1 or 2,
wherein the engagement mechanism portion comprises a mounting
arm fixed to the movable handrail portion and a stopper turnable
about a stopper shaft provided to the mounting arm as a center,
wherein the fixed handrail portion is provided with a stopper
receiving portion configured to receive the stopper, and
wherein the displacement of the movable handrail portion from the upright position to the tilt position is blocked by reception of the stopper with the stopper receiving portion and is allowed by removal of the stopper from the stopper receiving portion.
[Claim 4] An elevator device according to Claim 3,
wherein the engagement mechanism portion comprises a lever provided to the mounting arm so as to be turnable, and
wherein the lever is pushed down by the trigger member to be turned with respect to the mounting arm while pushing the stopper in a direction in which the stopper is removed from the stopper receiving portion and is engaged with the stopper shaft through intermediation of the stopper to stop turning with respect to the

mounting arm.
[Claim 5] An elevator device according to Claim 4, wherein the lever comprises a handrail contacting surface to be brought into contact with a side surface of the fixed handrail portion under a State in which the movable handrail portion reaches the tilt position.
[Claim 6] An elevator device according to any one of Claims 1 to 5, wherein the movable handrail portion comprises a handrail frame and an intermediate member which is arranged in a space inside the handrail frame and is fixed to the handrail frame.
