“Email Conversation Management System”

Abstract: A system and method for email conversation management in a web browser is disclosed. The method of searching emails with a keyword is disclosed which includes sending a search query to the web server by the user; receiving a search query by the web server; identification of the emails which contains the requested keyword in the email; displaying all the emails which contains the keyword in chronological order, as a separate result, so that the user can view all the emails contained the mentioned keyword without missing on any email. All the emails which are sent and received by the user are attributed and saved in separate sections. The email address of the client can be marked and labelled, which automatically directs all the emails which are received by the user in future to be categorized under same label.

Claims:We Claim:
1. The system and method for management of email conversations comprising of:
a. an email conversation management system;
b. plurality of users;
c. a communication network; and
d. a web browser;
wherein, the email conversation management system can be accessed through a web browser with the help of the communication network, where the users can manage their email and chats through the system.
2. The system as claimed in claim 1 wherein, a conversation includes one or more relevant emails which are grouped under a same topic.
3. The system as claimed in claim 1 wherein, all the emails which are directed to a user of the email conversation management system are grouped into a plurality of conversations and presented to the user in a conversation-based format, individually or jointly.
4. The system as claimed in claim 1 wherein, all the conversations received by the user are attributed and saved in separate sections in the user’s account.
5. The method of email conversation management using keywords comprising of:
a. sending a search query to the web server by the user;
b. receiving a search query by the web server;
c. identification of the emails which contains the requested keyword in the email;
d. displaying all the emails which contain the keyword in chronological order, as a separate result, so that the user can view all the emails contained the mentioned keyword without missing on any email.
, Description:Technical Field of the Invention
The present invention relates generally to the field of a computer network system, and in particular, to a system and method for a user to manage a large number of messages in an efficient and user-friendly manner.
Background of the Invention
In this technologically driven world, the use of internet and emails for communications has become necessary in day to day life. Each day people send and receive millions of e-mail messages over computer networks for business, personal and many other purposes. The use of emails is a convenient way to instantly communicate with other people, which can include data exchange, data transfer up-to a certain limit and also data storage.
In the web services like Gmail, which is used for email communication in particular, the email messages which arrives to the user's account are displayed by a dedicated email client or in web browser window individually, in a chronological order, e.g., the most recent message appears at top of the browser window while the oldest one appears at the bottom of the browser window.
If multiple emails are sent to a person under same subject, all the emails are stacked under the single subject, and the user would have to access them one by one to read all the emails, and it is easy to miss one or two emails as they appear in the same thread. Therefore there is need for a system and method for clearly organizing and displaying a plurality of emails in the user’s account which can include the emails received by the user in an order, emails sent by the user to other recipients, and so forth.
There is a need for a system where all the emails which are having same subject, and that form part of same conversation, be presented intuitively so that the user can locate a particular email without any hassle, and without missing out on any email.
Summary of the Invention
The present invention discloses a system and method for email conversation management in a web browser. According to the present invention the method of searching emails with a keyword includes sending a search query to the web server by the user; receiving a search query by the web server; identification of the emails which contains the requested keyword in the email; displaying all the emails which contains the keyword in chronological order, as a separate result, so that the user can view all the emails contained the mentioned keyword without missing on any email.
The present invention also discloses a method where all the emails which belong to a particular client or business can be directed to be saved under a particular label, which will be easy for the user to track the emails of the different clients. The email address of the client can be marked and labelled, which automatically directs all the emails which are received by the user in future to be categorized under same label. Similarly, the emails which are sent by the user to the same client are also categorized under same label, and can be tracked by the user easily.
Detailed Description of the Invention
The present invention discloses a system and method for email conversation management in a web browser.
According to the present invention the method of searching emails with a keyword includes sending a search query to the web server by the user; receiving a search query by the web server; identification of the emails which contains the requested keyword in the email; displaying all the emails which contains the keyword in chronological order, as a separate result, so that the user can view all the emails contained the mentioned keyword without missing on any email.
The email conversation management system includes a communication network, a plurality of users. A conversation includes one or more relevant emails which are grouped under a same topic. The email conversation management system can be used to determine which emails as part of each distinct conversation. The senders and recipients of the emails are the main participants of the conversation. All the emails which are directed to a user of the email conversation management system are grouped into a plurality of conversations and presented to the user in a conversation-based format, individually or jointly.
According to the present invention, all the conversations related to a user are stored in the user’s account in the web browser. The user has to register them with the web browser which leads to account creation for a user, and the user’s conversation threads are displayed in the browser window. Any client who uses the email address of the user to send the emails, are automatically directed to the user account and are stored in the account unless the user chooses to delete them.
According to the present invention, if a user wants to access their account through the web browser, the user would have log into their account by providing the email address and the corresponding password to the web browser, which is authenticated by the browser to provide access to the user. If the user submits a request through the browser to the email conversation management system in order to access the emails stored in their personal account, the system identifies a plurality of conversations in the user's personal account according to the user's request and transfers them to the display section of the browser, where only the emails and conversations requested by the user are displayed.
The present invention also discloses a method where all the emails which belong to a particular client or business can be directed to be saved under a particular label, which will be easy for the user to track the emails of the different clients. The email address of the client can be marked and labelled, which automatically directs all the emails which are received by the user in future to be categorized under same label. Similarly, the emails which are sent by the user to the same client are also categorized under same label, and can be tracked by the user easily.
According to the present invention, the web browser can also be used to initiate chat with the clients who are listed in the user’s contact list. The user can use the web browser to chat with the clients, where the chat initiated with a specific client is displayed in a separate window. All the chat information is stored in the user’s account, which they can access at any point of time, in which the date and time of chat are also recorded. The chat records remains in the user’s account unless they choose to delete it.
If the user asks for multiple conversations, the conversation management system generates a form that hosts a list of conversations, each conversation occupying one row in the form. For each row in the form, the conversation management system generates a set of columns and associated features to be displayed. If the user requests an individual conversation, the conversation management system generates a distinct form hosting a series of emails that are associated with the conversation.
There are several categories which are displayed in the email account of the user in which a similar type of emails gets segregated. All the emails which are received by the user are stored in the Inbox. The conversation management system assigns all the conversations and emails to the inbox category when predefined criteria are met. Also, the conversation management system associates the emails with trash attribute with a conversation when the user marks the conversation for deletion, but has not yet taken the steps required to permanently remove the conversation from the user's mail account. When the user selects any email to delete it, the conversation management system attaches the attribute “trash” to the conversation and removes an existing attribute “inbox”, or any particular label set by the user. All the emails which are attributed as trash are stored in the user’s account which the user can choose to delete permanently and only then the emails and conversations are permanently deleted from the user’s account.
Additionally, all the emails which are not read by the user are attached to the attribute “Unread” and the user can access all the unread emails in the “Unread” section displayed in the web browser. According to the present invention, when the user reads a conversation, the user can choose to reply to the particular recipient and all other recipients by selecting the reply option in the web browser.
Alternatively, the data which is shared in the email conversations can be chose to be stored in the cloud storage, which can be accessed by the users at any time and from anywhere.
