, Description:Technical Field of the Invention:
The present invention is generally related to the tools used in the industries including construction, packing, servicing and more particularly to a tool kit support product which is an adjustable torque hammer used in hammering operations.
Background of the Invention
A hammer is a tool which comprises of a head and a handle where the head is generally made of a heavy material which is fixed to a long handle so as to swing the hammer onto the object to achieve tasks including driving nails into wood, wall or any concrete surface, to crush the rock or any strong material and so forth. The hammers are basically used for a wide range of activities including driving, shaping, and breaking applications.
Hammers can be either hand powered or mechanically powered, where the hand powered hammers are operated by hand of the user to swing and hit the surface for achieving the desired results; whereas the mechanically powered hammers are either automatic or semi-automatic which operate on external electrical power.
The power hammers are mechanical forging hammers that use a non-muscular power source to raise the hammer preparatory to striking, and accelerate it onto the work being hammered. The mechanical power hammers are smaller and are operated by a single man both holding the work-piece and the machine which they operate. The majority of these mechanical linkage machines are powered by line shaft flat belt systems or later electric motors that rotated a crank on the machine that drove the ram.
There are several prior art patents which describe the various hammering systems.
US Patent application 3464501A by Allied Steel and Tractor Products Inc. discloses an automatic pneumatic impact hammer which is automatically operated by the positioning of the hammer by the operator and which automatically ceases operation when the hammer tool no longer encounters resistance, either due to the fact that the operator has removed the hammer from the load or the tool has broken through or otherwise completed its work at the moment. More efficient operation is thereby attained and breakdowns are minimized.
US patent application 1600824A by Alfred E Horman discloses a power hammer machine which is provided with a base which carries the frame supporting the movable parts of the machine. Mounted upon one end of the base is anzanvil support to which is detaehably secured .an anvil at. Power to operate. the "device is furnished the" constantly rotating power. Wheel ,.connected by belt to the power wheel. "In order to vary the eifective connection between the two power wheels the idler pulley operating a belt tightener" piroviaea. i ea l r s le itated. Forward or rearward movement of the arm will vary the degree of tightness of the belt allowing more or less slippage, between the belt and the power wheels. A brake controls the transverse movements of the hammer. The hammer head proper is pivotally connected to the router or free end of supporting arm.
US patent application 3557884A by Ingersoll-Rand Co discloses an impact wrench mechanism having a hammer including a hammer carrier carrying a pivoted hammer dog rotating around an anvil. The hammer carrier includes a pair of axially spaced plates interconnected by the pivot pin for the hammer dog fitting in aligned bores in the plates with a loose fit allowing the pivot pin and hammer dog to rock slightly along the axis of the pivot pin.
There are several drawbacks of the existing systems and the prior art patents, which includes the automatic hammering applications are specially designed for high torque load, so there is maximum power loss seen during low torque hammering applications. The automatic hammering applications are either hydraulic based or pneumatic based which increases the power consumption. Also the heavy devices which are connected increase the weight of the system which makes them difficult to handle. Another drawback is that they are not suitable for low torque application, which leads to maximum power utilization, thus there is maximum power loss during the operation.
In order to overcome all the mentioned drawbacks, there is a requirement for a system which can provide hammering applications using with low power consumption.
Objects of the Invention
The primary object of the present invention is to provide an energy efficient electric adjustable torque hammer (EEEATH) which uses a combination of technologies including electrical, mechatronics and electronics.
Another object of the present invention is to provide an energy efficient electric adjustable torque hammer (EEEATH) in which the hammering length can be adjustable.
Another object of the present invention is to provide an energy efficient electric adjustable torque hammer (EEEATH) in which the torque can be adjusted with electronic controller circuit.
Summary of the Invention
The present invention discloses an energy efficient electric adjustable torque hammer (EEEATH) which can be used for hammering operations with minimum power consumption.
According to the present invention the energy efficient electric adjustable torque hammer (EEEATH) comprises of electronic controller, multiple motors, rack, and auto nail holder.
