Engine Component

Abstract: An engine component (68) includes a hot surface (90) in thermal communication with a hot combustion gas flow, and a cooling surface (104), opposite the hot surface (90), along which a cooling fluid flows. At least one vortex generator (102) is provided on the cooling surface (104), and can induce a vortex in the cooling fluid in response to contact with the flowing cooling fluid.
