Abstract: This invention relates to provide an engine house compartment for packaging of various types of engines and also to provide single engine house compartment for different variants like 4-wheel drive, 2-wheel drive, LHD, RHD, single cab, two cab, and space cab. The engine house compartment is provided such that the various parts such as air tank, ECU, air compressor, radiator, battery, relay etc. can be accommodated for various types of engines without any change in the engine house compartment structure.

PREAMBLE TO THE DESCRIPTION
The following specification describes the invention
1
FIELD OF INVENTION
The present invention relates to an engine house compartment. BACKGROUND
As shown in figure-1, figure-2 and figure-3 for the mounting of various types of engines the engine housing requirements are different. And again for the various types of cabs the lay out structure for mounting of the engine is different. Again the lay out is different for 4-wheel and 2-wheel drive. And in combination of all this variants the number of lay outs are large. So there is a need of a layout for the engine which will reduce the number of layouts for the mounting of different types of engines, cabs.
In the prior art the engine house layout consisted of few bolted and few welded brackets, also there were lot of changes in location of aggregates e.g. air filter 120, clutch reservoir 106, battery 116 in layouts for different engines. As for the engines which require larger size air filter 120, wheel arch needed to be modified so two different engine compartments were required.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
An object of the present invention is to provide an engine house compartment for packaging of various types of engines.
Another object of the present invention is to provide minimum variation in location of aggregates.
2
Yet another object of the present invention is to provide single engine house compartment for different variants like 4-wheel drive, 2-wheel drive, LHD, RHD, single cab, two cab, and space cab.
Yet another object of the present invention is to provide single engine house compartment for various types of cab structures.
Further object of the present invention is to provide engine house compartment such that the various parts such as air tank, ECU, air compressor, radiator, battery, relay etc. can be accommodated for various types of engines without any change in the engine house compartment structure.
Still further object of the present invention is to accommodate varying size air filter, wheel arch etc.
Still another object of the present invention is to package all the variant parts at same instance.
The invention is described with reference to the embodiments given hereinafter. It may however be understood that the embodiments are only by way of example and that the invention may be exemplified in many other ways obvious to a person skilled in the art.
3
DESCRIPTION
Figure 4, Figure-5 and Figure-6 shows engine house compartment embodying present invention. In the present invention the layout of the engine house compartment (under bonnet) is such that it can be used for packaging of various types of engines available. The engine house compartment consists of front tie member, LH/ RH wheel arch, fire wall, floor, and bonnet. To accommodate various types of engines there are bolted mounting brackets provided which fit into the engine compartment in different locations (such as on-wheel arch/ fire wall/ tie member) for different engines. Weld nuts have been provided in engine compartment for bolted mounting brackets. The arrangement/ locations of the weld nuts are such that it is capable of mounting brackets for all different engines. In spite of different engines and different aggregates and different locations the engine house compartment remains same.
For a particular engine the engine compartment is exactly same for different variants like 4-wheel drive, 2-wheel drive, LHD, RHD, single cab, two cab, and space cab
It can also be adjusted for various types of cab structures. The engine housing layout structure 200 is such that the various parts such as brake booster 102, air filter 120, clutch reservoir 106, battery 116, brake reservoir 104, oil filler cap 108, power steering reservoir 112, radiator filler cap 114, coolant filler cap 118, brake booster 122, fuse box
4
124 etc. can be accommodated for various types of engines without any change in the
engine housing layout structure.
To accommodate varying size of air filter 120, wheel arch is shifted towards bottom of
the engine compartment house.
It is reiterated that the present invention is not limited to the above embodiments. Various other embodiments of the invention will be apparent to a person skilled in the art
or follow from routine experimentation.
