Epoxy Based Coating Composition With Reduced Curing Time

Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for the production of an epoxy-based coating composition, characterized in that the process comprises the following steps in the given order a) mixing of one or more polyamine hardener with one or more accelerators whereby the weight ratio between the total amount of polyamine hardeners and the total amount of accelerators is 91.00:9.00 to 99.95:0.05; b) combining the mixture comprising the polyamine hardeners and the accelerators of step a) with an epoxy-groups containing compound whereby the epoxy-groups containing compound comprises at least 2 epoxy groups, whereby the accelerator comprises one or more OH-groups and to a process for the production of an epoxy-based coating composition, character-ized in that the process comprises the following steps in the given order a) mixing of one or more polyamine hardener with one or more accelerators; b) combining the mixture comprising the polyamine hardeners and the accelerators of step a) with an epoxy-groups containing compound whereby the epoxy-groups containing compound comprises at least 2 epoxy groups, whereby the accelerator comprises one or more OH-groups and the amount of accelerator based on the final epoxy-based coating composition is 0.010 to 5.000 wt.%, a coating composition obtainable by the processes, a polyamine hardener, and its use and kit-of-parts of the epoxy-based coating composition.
