Specification

FIELD OF THE INVENTION
Magnetization/Demagnetization Test Equipment (MAG/DMAG Test Set) is used
for the magnetization and demagnetization of various components like screw used in the
mechanical sensors like gyrometer, accelerometers and other sensor applications.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The sensors are installed on the platform, which is used to provide information
pertaining to the angle and position at which vehicle like aircraft is flying. The sensors
like gyro & accelero are meant for stabilizing the platform & position. Once the platform is
stabilized, the electrical force & acceleration applied to the sensors is used to calculate
the angle and position at which the vehicle like aircraft is flying. In production of above
sensors highly précised screws are used at various stages. Presence and absence of the
magnetization plays important role during testing of the sensor. Failure at any level would
cause repeating of test again so a special system required to be designed to provide the
required value of magnetization and demagnetization.
The MAG/DMAG Test set contains facilities for the generation of test signals
required to excite the system under test, and the measurement magnetization value are
done with the help of gauss meter.
SUMMARY OF PRESENT INVENTION
In accordance with one aspect of present invention is capable of it is capable
magnetizing the components like screw up to the desired level.
In accordance with second aspect of present invention is capable of generating
DC signals required for the magnetization of the tool.
In accordance with yet another aspect of present invention is capable of providing
variable value of the magnetization with help of the variac provided on the front panel of
the equipment.
In accordance with yet another aspect of present invention is capable of having
self test facility.
In accordance with yet another aspect of present invention is housed in a small
and portable assembly box.
In accordance with yet another aspect of present invention is designed to operate
at general power sully of 220 Volt and 50 Hz.
In accordance with yet another aspect of present invention is capable of providing
the demagnetization of screws as well.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
The features and advantages of the present invention will become more apparent
and descriptive in the description when considered together with figures presented:

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
The sensors are installed on the platform, which is used to provide information
pertaining to the angle and position at which vehicle like aircraft is flying. In production of
above sensors highly précised screws are used at various stages. Presence and
absence of the magnetization plays a very important role during testing of the sensor.
Failure at any level would cause repeating of test again so a special system required to
be designed to provide the required value of magnetization and demagnetization.
Fig-1 shows the block diagram of the MAG/DMAG Test set. The MAG/DMAG Test
Set is powered by 220 Volt and 50 Hz supply. Input supply is provided to two sections
i.e. one for the magnetization and another for the demagnetization. During magnetization
of the screws used in the sensors the input supply first provided to the variac and then
the variable input supply provided to the rectifier section for the DC signal generation. DC
signals generated by the rectifier section were provided to the screws under test with the
help of the toggle switch.
For the demagnetization of the screw the input AC supply is directly applied to the
special customized transformer coil on which screws are kept for the test. The
customized transformer coil is specifically designed to hold the variable sizes of screw.
The MAG/DMAG Test set contains facilities for the generation of test signals
required to excite the system under test, and the measurement of signals was carried out
by the external gauss meter. Manual switches are provided on the front panel of the test
equipment. (See fig-2)
Tests are selected by setting the toggle switch selection to specific positions.
External measurement is then carried out when the TEST switch is operated for the
magnetization and demagnetization.
The MAG/DMAG test set is housed in a small and handy box case. The lid of the
case is secured with four knurled bolts which, can be opened by unscrewing the bolt to
expose the controls mounted on front panel. The panel is secured to the case by 4
screws located around the front panel of the test set.
The front panel titles are marked in English alphabet finished in black. The panel
is finished anodized aluminum color in gray.
The value of magnetization and demagnetization was varied to maximum and
minimum level with help of the variac provided on the front panel of the test equipment.
With the help of the variac the value of the DC signal was varied which in turns increases
and decreases the value of the magnetization.
