Description:FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The invention pertains to ergonomic furniture designed to alleviate the discomfort and health risks associated with prolonged sitting. More specifically, it relates to a chair incorporating features that enhance weight distribution, stability, and adjustability to improve user comfort and support.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Prolonged sitting at work has become a pervasive issue, leading to discomfort and increasing the risk of chronic health problems such as heart disease and spinal issues. The pressure exerted on the body from extended periods of sitting can have detrimental effects on overall health and well-being.
Existing Solutions and Their Limitations:
To address the health risks associated with prolonged sitting, various solutions have been introduced. These include:
Ergonomic chairs: While ergonomic chairs can provide better support and adjustability, they do not fundamentally change the posture of sitting and cannot fully mitigate the risks associated with prolonged sitting.
Standing desks: Standing desks offer an alternative to traditional sitting, but they can also lead to discomfort and fatigue if used exclusively for extended periods.
Desk exercise equipment: While desk exercise equipment can promote movement, it may not be used consistently or effectively enough to counteract the negative effects of prolonged sitting.
Chair cushions and lumbar supports: These accessories can enhance comfort and support for the back, but they do not address the underlying issue of prolonged sitting.
Sit-stand converters: Sit-stand converters offer flexibility by allowing users to switch between sitting and standing. However, they rely on consistent use and may not fully address the health risks associated with both prolonged sitting and standing.
While these solutions offer partial solutions, they do not fully address the root problem of prolonged sitting. Many workplaces still rely on traditional sitting arrangements, limiting the effectiveness of these interventions. There is a need for a more comprehensive approach that can effectively reduce the health risks associated with prolonged sitting.
Present invention is a solution to combat the health risks of prolonged sitting, such as ergonomic chairs, standing desks, desk exercise equipment, chair cushions, and sit-stand converters, each have limitations. Ergonomic chairs improve comfort but do not solve the issue of sitting for long periods. Standing desks offer an alternative but can lead to discomfort if used for too long. Desk exercise equipment provides movement but may not be used consistently. Chair cushions and lumbar supports enhance comfort but do not address the need for regular movement. Sit-stand converters offer flexibility but depend on consistent use and may still cause health issues if standing for extended periods. Overall, these solutions often address specific issues but do not fully tackle the problem of prolonged sitting and its associated health risks.

The chair features an adjustable knee supporter designed to transfer a portion of the body weight from the spine to the legs. This component is strategically positioned to support the knees and lower thighs while the user is seated.
The knee supporter can be adjusted in both height and angle, allowing users to find a comfortable position that aligns with their body dimensions and sitting posture.
By redistributing some of the body weight to the legs, the knee supporter significantly reduces the pressure on the spine. This alleviates back strain and discomfort commonly experienced during prolonged periods of sitting. The redistribution of weight helps in preventing posture-related health issues, such as lower back pain and spinal stress.
The foot board is constructed from high-quality anti-slip rubber. This material provides a textured, non-slip surface that ensures stable and secure placement of the feet.
The foot board is designed with a raised edge or grip pattern that prevents the feet from sliding off, even when the user shifts or adjusts their position.
The anti-slip feature of the foot board enhances overall stability and comfort by keeping the feet firmly in place. This reduces the risk of accidental slipping and contributes to a more secure and comfortable sitting experience. The stability provided by the foot board also complements the weight redistribution achieved by the knee supporter, contributing to a balanced and ergonomic seating posture.
The chair is equipped with adjustable components, including:
Knee Supporter: Adjustable in height and angle to accommodate different leg lengths and sitting positions.
Seat Height: Adjustable to allow users to set the chair at a height that matches their desk or work surface, and to fit various body sizes.
The adjustment mechanisms may include gas lift controls for seat height and manual or lever-based adjustments for the knee supporter.
The adjustability features ensure that the chair can be customized to fit users of various heights and weights. This customization promotes better posture by aligning the user's body with the work surface and reducing strain. It allows for a more tailored seating experience, enhancing overall comfort and reducing the likelihood of developing posture-related issues.
The invention is distinguished by its combination of an adjustable knee supporter, which uniquely redistributes body weight from the spine to the legs, an anti-slip foot board that improves stability, and customizable height settings. This novel combination effectively addresses the discomfort and health risks associated with prolonged sitting, setting it apart from conventional chairs that may focus on only one aspect of ergonomic support.
Present invention is having the following invention:
Chair Base (101): A stable base, likely made of metal or a durable plastic, to support the chair's weight and provide stability.
Seat (102): A cushioned seat with adjustable height, allowing users to find the optimal position.
Knee Supporter (103): A movable component attached to the base or seat, designed to support the knees and lower thighs.
Foot Board (104): A platform attached to the base, made of anti-slip rubber for secure foot placement.
Adjustment Mechanisms (105): Levers, knobs, or gas lift controls for adjusting the knee supporter and seat height.
The knee supporter is connected to the base or seat using a mechanism that allows for adjustment in height and angle.
The foot board is attached to the base, ensuring a stable and secure platform for the feet.
The adjustment mechanisms are connected to the relevant components, allowing for easy customization of the chair's settings.
Best method of working:
Adjust Seat Height: Adjust the seat height to ensure that the user's feet rest flat on the floor and their knees are at a 90-degree angle.
Adjust Knee Supporter: Position the knee supporter at a comfortable height and angle to support the knees and lower thighs. The goal is to redistribute some of the body weight from the spine to the legs.
Adjust Other Features: If applicable, adjust any other features of the chair, such as lumbar support or armrests, to achieve optimal comfort and support.
Sit and Enjoy: Once the chair is adjusted to the user's preferences, sit back and enjoy the improved comfort and support provided by the adjustable knee supporter and anti-slip foot board.
The adjustable knee supporter redistributes some body weight from the spine to the legs, addressing a common issue that most chairs do not tackle. This feature is particularly beneficial in reducing back strain and enhancing overall comfort during extended periods of sitting.
The anti-slip rubber foot board enhances stability and prevents foot slipping, addressing a common shortcoming of many chairs. This stability improves user comfort and ensures a secure seating experience.
The chair's adjustable knee supporters and seat height accommodate a wide range of body sizes and shapes. This level of customization offers more flexibility and comfort compared to many conventional ergonomic chairs, which may have limited adjustability.
The chair provides a holistic approach to ergonomic comfort by addressing both weight distribution and stability. Unlike other solutions that may focus solely on comfort or standing options, this chair integrates multiple features to reduce discomfort and health risks from sitting, offering a comprehensive solution for users.
The ergonomic chair with adjustable knee supporter and anti-slip foot board offers a significant improvement in addressing the issues associated with prolonged sitting. Its unique combination of features—weight redistribution, enhanced stability, and customizable adjustments—provides a more comfortable and supportive seating experience, reducing health risks and improving overall user well-being.
