The present invention relates to an evaporative air cooler which can be used at various places and location and could be easily shifted within the premises. The present invention more particularly relates to an evaporative air cooler which provides ease of movement of the cooler from one location to another location by the use of a specially invented pull-out handle. The present invention enables the movement or shifting of Air cooler very user friendly.

BACKGROUND AND PRIOR ART:
An evaporative air cooler is a device that cools the air in the space to be cooled by the process of the evaporation of water in air and are popularly known as Evaporative Air Coolers. Existing evaporative air cooling devices have a small water reservoir typically at the bottom of the device. A pump pulls water from the reservoir and pumps it through tubing to the top and / or side of the unit, where it gets distributed through appropriate arrangement and flows down the sides and through one or more porous pads (cooling media) that line the sides (and / or back) of the unit. An electric motor powers a fan (centrifugal / axial / cross flow or any other type of fan) typically near to the air discharges side of the device, and, is responsible to suck air from the cooling media and blow to the space being cooled. As the air is sucked through the water soaked pads (cooling media), the water gets evaporated in the stream which reduces the temperature of the air and the cooled air is then blown out from the air cooler to provide cooling to the space being cooled. This evaporation is caused by a transfer of heat from the air to the water. This results in a net loss of heat in the air or, in other words, cooling of the air. Also all Evaporative Air coolers consist of water reservoir inside the body or within the Air cooler. And during the process the water is getting evaporated and tank gets empty – and, after certain hours it needs to be filled again to continue the cooling. To fill the water, sometimes the air cooler need to be moved from one location to another location. Further, a person may want to use the cooler at different locations. During the movement, especially when air cooler is filled with water, it is difficult to move it without griping locations or handles. Mostly air coolers does not have any facility to move it from one place to another place, and so usually the users move it by pushing the body of air cooler, that is very inconvenient method of movement of the cooler and cooler may topple or fall down. Sometime Air coolers are fitted with handles on sides of the cooler body and users grip it by two hands to move the coolers, which is very difficult to move as the cooler has to be lifted. Some Air Coolers models have fixed handle on back side and by pushing the handle, cooler may get toppled, or, else user has to move it very slowly and carefully. This is not a convenient way to move or shift the Air cooler. Hence, the air coolers of prior art cannot provide convenient movement or shifting within the same premises. It is therefore an objective of the present invention to provide convenient movement for an evaporative air cooler which is very user friendly.

It is therefore an objective of the present invention to provide for evaporative air cooler which has a specially invented pull-out handle and hence enable very comfortable movement of air cooler to users while moving the cooler for any reasons including portability from one location to another location, as well as including movement for the purpose of filling the water.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION:

An evaporative air cooler as per the present invention comprises of an evaporative air cooler with a specially designed handle, which can be pulled up from Air cooler body and brought to an extended position from top wall of the Air cooler such extended position being the comfortable height for manual movement of the air cooler.

The air cooler comprises of an outer frame with a reservoir at the bottom to store water. The side and / or back walls of the outer frame comprise of fixed or removable walls. The side and / or back walls comprise of an appropriately designed arrangement of channel running through the upper length such that water can flow through the channel and have suitable opening at regular intervals facing such that water can fall on the pads. An assembly of clamp on the inside of the side walls hold pads onto the wall. The pad could be constructed using any materials which can retain substantial amount of water. The side walls are removable on the outer frame through an interlocking mechanism. The side or back or top walls comprise of appropriately designed arrangement of pull out bracket, it’s mounting arrangement and additionally it houses a telescopically or otherwise sliding handle through it, which can be pulled out and pushed in as and when required to move the cooler. In a preferred embodiment the outer frame is made of metal or plastic material. The air discharge (usually front, top or bottom) portion of the Air Cooler house the control panel for operating the Air Cooler. Such a control panel can be conveniently placed or housed in any part of the cooler and is within the scope of the present invention.
The pull-out handle bracket is coupled with the Air cooler body and houses a pair of handle rods that are coupled and retractable into the pull-out handle bracket by a sliding movement relative to the Air cooler body to allow the handle to be extended between the first position and the second position. The handle rods also includes a laterally extending grip member that is coupled at the upper end of each of the extending rods and that extends there between. The first position could be where the handle grip member is adjacent the side wall or top wall of the Air cooler body to at least a second position where the handle grip member extends beyond the top wall to the upper level relative to the top wall. In some embodiments, each of the rods includes a plurality of telescoping rods which would give different positions from the Air cooler wall to the pull-out handle when the rods are in an extended position. The pull out handle is extended upward by pulling it in the upward direction. In some embodiments, the release mechanism is actuated by a push button that is positioned on a central portion of the laterally extending grip member by a spring mechanism or pressing of a button thereof with recess on the handle rods with a locking mechanism. As described herein, the handle includes a pair of rods and more preferably square or rectangle or round or elliptical section rods that are slide -coupled with the Air cooler body to allow the handle to be moved relative to the Air cooler body. According to the method, the handle is extended from a first position where the pull-out handle is near the top wall of the Air cooler body to a second position where the handle is positioned on the upper levels as compared to the level of the top wall. In other embodiments, actuating release mechanism is used to release the lock of the handle from the first position to the second position and vice versa. In another embodiment, the function of handle brackets may be achieved just by sliding of the handle rods without any lock positions and more preferably square / rectangle / round / elliptical section handle rods when the handle rods are coupled with the body of the Air cooler. All such embodiments form part of the present invention.

The present invention provides a collapsible pull-out handle coupled on the Air Cooler body which can be extended by pulling the grip member from and retracted into the wall of the Air cooler by gravitational force. The pull-out handle as per the present invention for air cooler is easy to operate by extending the handle from the air cooler body move easily from one place to another place. The pull-out handle as per the present invention for air cooler enables the air cooler to be moved by using very less effort by the user, so it is very convenient to move the cooler from one place to another place even in water filled condition. The pull-out handle as per the present invention for air cooler is very convenient to move the cooler and enables handling at body convenient levels without he need to bend.

A grip member 26 extends between the two parallel handle rods 23 which when pulled enables the handle rods 23 to be extended from the first position 30 to the second position 40. On removing contact with the grip member 26, the handle rods 23 slide in the brackets 24 by gravitational force. The handle rods 23 can be telescopic too, so as to allow longer opening dimensions and more than two positions 30, 40.
There are substantial advantages of the Air cooler with the pull – out handle which include that Users can conveniently move the Air Cooler comfortably by pull-out handle. When a handle is an extended position to the top side of the Air cooler, a person does not need to bend down too much for shifting the cooler from one place to another. The Air cooler with pull-out handle can be shifted with very little effort, which could be even be a single hand operation.
