Exteroceptive Stockings For Neurological Stimulation In Lower Limb

Abstract: The present invention provides a devise for neurological stimulation in lower limb that include stockings, vibrator. At present practitioners are giving sensory input manually by cotton buds, sometime with manual vibration, on the other hand this practice may be given once in a day or twice, which is not sufficient to generate tone in such patients. Present invention will provide continuous sensory input at regular interval for increasing better chance to develop tone.

Specification

Description:FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[001] The present invention relates to the field of neurological stimulation and more particularly, the present invention relates to the exteroceptive stocking device for sensory stimulation in the form of vibration at the motor points. The device provides vibration to patients those require sensory integration therapy.
BACKGROUND FOR THE INVENTION:
[002] The following discussion of the background to the invention is intended to facilitate an understanding of the present invention. However, it should be appreciated that the discussion is not an acknowledgment or admission that any of the material referred to was published, known, or part of the common general knowledge in any jurisdiction as of the priority date of the application. The details provided herein the background if belongs to any publication is taken only as a reference for describing the problems, in general terminologies or principles or both of science and technology in the associated prior art.
[003] The present practices uses manual intervention using cotton buds for light touch and for vibration, generally it is done by hand. This practice is only limited to few minutes and continuous intervention cannot be provided manually. The manual intervention also depends on therapist skill, few practitioner provide vibration by hand. Sensory intervention is required sometimes thrice a day or even more and in some cases the care giver may forget to do intervention as advised by physiotherapist.
[004] There are cases of spinal cord injury or CVA, where some patients complain of sensory loss, so this present invention will provide the continuous sensory input at regular interval to improve the sensory function. As we know without sensory input, it is difficult to get the motor response. It may be helpful in case of flaccid paralysis in adult and pediatric patients, as continuous sensory input at regular interval will initiate the tone in such patients, as without tone it is very difficult to get motor response.
[005] In light of the foregoing, there is a need for the Exteroceptive stockings for neurological stimulation in lower limb that overcomes problems prevalent in the prior art.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION:
[006] Some of the objects of the present disclosure, which at least one embodiment herein satisfies, are as follows.
[007] The principal object of the present invention is to overcome the disadvantages of the manual intervention for sensory stimulation.
[008] An object of the present invention is to provide the devise for “Stroke patient” in High dependency unit or in ICU where continuous intervention is required, at that time this present invention may become very useful.
[009] Another object of the present invention is to provide the present invention for Spinal cord injury patients which useful in wards for those who require vigorous sensory intervention.
[010] Another object of the present invention is that it may be useful for preventing “Deep Vein Thrombosis” in patients admitted in ICU or prolong bed ridden conditions.
[011] Another object of the present invention is that it prevents the chance of cross infection in ICU as each patient can have their own stockings.
[012] Other objects and advantages of the present disclosure will be more apparent from the following description, which is not intended to limit the scope of the present disclosure.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION:
[013] The present invention provides exteroceptive stockings for neurological stimulation in lower limb. Treating patients in wards and OPD in case of sensation degradation in various conditions such as Stroke, Spinal cord injury and without sensory, it is difficult to get motor response.
[014] The current invention can be moved easily from one position to another as required. The current invention can be used according to patient requirement. All the stockings (Ankle stocking, Leg stocking and Thigh stocking) are unique in nature and not interchangeable as the location of vibrator is precise. The current invention can be manufactured at a reasonable cost. The current invention will be extremely durable. Placement of vibrator in the current invention are precisely placed with the knowledge of Anatomy for the given body parts. The current invention is patient friendly and structurally adaptive for all the three stocking. All the stocking have precise motor points targeting effective sensory stimulation. Wide range of conditions varying from sports rehabilitation, musculoskeletal rehabilitation, neurogenic rehabilitation, geriatric condition preventing falls, pediatric condition such as Flaccid CP, balance can be achieved through all the three stockings. The current invention is totally safe and shock proof.
[015] In one aspect of the present invention, the device incudes Multiple Vibrators (1) for motor points targeting effective sensory stimulation; wires connecting vibrators with adaptor (2); DC adaptor (2).
[016] In another aspect of the present invention, the device comprises a wearable body.
[017] In another aspect of the present invention, the device comprises at least two opening or at least two free ends.
[018] In another aspect of the present invention, the device comprises a cloth pocket for vibrator (4).
[019] In another aspect of the present invention, the device comprises a thread stitching (5).
