Claims:We Claim:
1) A far infrared reflecting cellulosic fiber comprising at least one additive integrated in the fiber structure,
wherein the additive is at least one metal oxide selected from a group consisting of cerium oxide, calcium oxide, alumina, silica, magnesium oxide and ferric oxide or combination thereof.

2) The fiber as claimed in claim 1, wherein said fiber have a thermal insulating values in the range of 85%-90%.

3) The fiber as claimed in claim 1, wherein the amount additive is in the range of 2.5-7.5 wt % of the total fiber.

4) The fiber as claimed in claim 3, wherein the additive of the metal oxide is in the range of 250-900 nm.

5) The fiber as claimed in claim 1, wherein the ratio of additive to fiber is in the range of 1:12 to 1:40.

6) A process of producing far infrared reflecting cellulosic fiber comprises the step of:

(a) mixing at least one additive with a cellulosic dope to provide a homogeneous fiber dope solution; and
(b) extruding the fiber dope solution to obtain the far infrared reflecting cellulosic fiber.

wherein, the additive is a metal oxide selected from a group consisting of cerium oxide, calcium oxide, alumina, silica, magnesium oxide and ferric oxide or combination thereof.

7) The process as claimed in claim 5, wherein said additive is dispersed in water.

8) The process as claimed in claim 5, wherein the ratio of metal oxide to the fiber is in the range of 1:12 - 1:40.

9) The process as claimed in claim 5, wherein the particle size of the metal oxide is in the range of 250-900 nm.

10) The process as claimed in claim 5, further comprising of adding at least one surfactant to step (a).

11) An article of manufacture having far infrared reflection characteristics comprising a plurality of fibers as claimed in claims 1-4.
