Abstract: Crops monitoring and protecting from animals and birds is a major problem in hilly areas to protect and monitor major seasonal crops like as Apple, Tomato’s, Grain and Rice etc. There is a need to deploy intelligent system or device to monitor and protect the major seasonal crops in hilly areas from animals and birds. The system or device should be responding as per object activity detection and voice detection and produce the different sounds according objects. Also, there should be an mobile or web application to manage and handle that smart device to change or update the sound and also to operate the speaker automatically and manually.
This invention relates to FARM EYE - AI sound based monitoring and alert system or device to protect crops from damage caused by animals and birds in hilly areas.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
KR20200091524A provide a crop management apparatus capable of effectively managing crops that are expected to be damaged by harmful animals or pests. The crop management apparatus of the present invention includes: a monitoring unit installed at the edge of a cultivation area where crop is cultivated and monitoring or removing harmful animals approaching the cultivation area from the outside; a measurement unit installed in the middle of the cultivation area and measuring the state of the crop or the state of the cultivation area; a sprinkler disposed between the monitoring unit and the measurement unit and spraying water or chemicals required for the growth of the crop; and a server controlling the monitoring unit, the measurement unit and the sprinkler.
Research Gap: The proposed invention is using voice detecting sensor and camera for vision to monitor and protect the crops.
None of the prior art indicate above either alone or in combination with one another disclose what the present invention has disclosed. Present invention is an AI sound based monitoring and alert system or device to protect crops from damage caused by animals and birds in hilly areas.

Discloses herein 1. An AI sound based monitoring and alert system or device to protect crops from damage caused by animals and birds in hilly areas comprises Raspberry Pi (10), Camera (11), Data Storage (12), Speaker (13), Neural Stick (14), Battery (15), Solar Panel (16), and Sound Detector (17); wherein the system is based on Raspberry Pi system and which is connected to the camera for vision, data storage card to store different sounds and camera clicked images, sound detector to detect the sounds, speaker to produce the different sounds as per inputs, a neural stick to identify the animal or birds and a battery for power supply along with solar panel.
In another embodiment, Solar panel charges the battery for proper power supply; and the device also detects the humidity and temperature using the sensors.
In another embodiment, the system employs Neural stick-based Machine Learning algorithms to recognize the object kind and provide signals to the Raspberry Pi via camera-captured photos and voice or sound recognition, which subsequently plays sounds through an internal or external speaker that are unpleasant to the species.
In another embodiment, said system protects crops from animals and birds by constantly monitoring them and sounding or alarming them when they are about to harm them; and after sending the PWM signals from the Raspberry Pi to the speaker, the innovation produces sound.
In another embodiment, a data storage device is connected to the Raspberry Pi and is used to store the pre-programmed noises and camera images; and with the help of a wi-fi modem, the device is connected to the cloud.
In another embodiment, the device is controlled by a smartphone application or web application that connects to the cloud as well as uploading inputs to the cloud, such as changing or updating sounds and manually checking if the speaker is working properly or not.

FARM EYE - AI sound based monitoring and alert system or device to protect crops from damage caused by animals and birds in hilly areas will help to monitor and protect the major seasonal crops like as Apple, Tomato’s, Grain and Rice etc. This system will work automatically based on the monitoring of object image, object activity, object identification and voice detection. An internal or external speaker will be installed with this device to produce a sound alert as per object identification and voice detection.
External speaker will be connected through Bluetooth. This device will save the human effort to monitor and protect the seasonal crops from animals, birds and other living objects.

Figure-1 demonstrates the basics deployment architecture with a speaker and Wi-Fi modem connected with the cloud.
In figure-2, the device is based on Raspberry Pi system and which will be connected to the camera for vision, data storage card to store different sounds and camera clicked images, sound detector to detect the sounds, speaker to produce the different sounds as per inputs, a neural stick to identify the animal or birds and a battery for power supply along with solar panel. 1. An AI sound based monitoring and alert system or device to protect crops from damage caused by animals and birds in hilly areas comprises Raspberry Pi (10), Camera (11), Data Storage (12), Speaker (13), Neural Stick (14), Battery (15), Solar Panel (16), and Sound Detector (17).
