Abstract: Embodiment of the present invention relates to a fibre-reinforced plastic (FRP) composite blank core article (100). The article (100) has an inner most layer (1), an outer most layer (3), and an intermediate layer (2). Further, the inner most layer (1) has a wear resistant material. The outer most layer (3) partly overlaps the inner most layer (1) and has a glass fabric material. Furthermore, the intermediate layer (2) is interposed between the inner most layer (1) and the outer most layer (3) such the intermediate layer (2) has a PVC foam material.
What is claimed is:
1. A fibre-reinforced plastic (FRP) composite blank core article (100) for
grinding and surface finishing, the article (100) comprising:
an inner most layer (1), wherein the inner most layer (1) has a wear resistant material;
an outer most layer (3), wherein
the outer most layer (3) partly overlaps the inner most layer (1), and
the outer most layer (3) has a glass fabric material; and
an intermediate layer (2) interposed between the inner most layer (1) and the outer most layer (3), wherein the intermediate layer (2) has a PVC foam material.
2. The FRP composite blank core article (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the inner most layer (1), the outer most layer (3), and the intermediate layer (2) also comprise a polyester resin.
3. The FRP composite blank core article (100) as claimed in claim 2, wherein the polyester resin lies in range from 60 to 70% by weight of total weight of the article (100).
3. The FRP composite blank core article (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the FRP composite blank core article (100) is FRP Composite blank core wheel.
4. The FRP composite blank core article (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the wear resistant material comprises silicon carbide and chopped glass strand mat fibre.
5. The FRP composite blank core article (100) as claimed in claim 4, wherein
the Silicone carbide, having particle size ranging from 10 to 100 microns, lies in range from 0.2 to 5% by weight of total weight of the article (100), and
the chopped glass strand mat fibre, having length ranging from 6 to 12mm, lies in range from 0.2 to 5% by weight of total weight of the article (100).
6. The FRP composite blank core article (100) as claimed in in claim 1, wherein the glass fabric material is glass mat and PP core Mat such that glass mat GSM Range lies from 200GSM to 2400GSM, and PP core mat GSM Range lies from 300-150-300,450-180-450 & 600-300-600.
7. The FRP composite blank core article (100) as claimed in claim 6, wherein the glass fabric material lies in range from 30 to 40% by weight of total weight of the article (100).
8. The FRP composite blank core article (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the PVC Foam material, having density ranging from 35 to 250 kg/m3, lies in range from 0.2 to 2% weight of total weight of the article (100).
9. The FRP composite blank core article (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the outer most layer (3) comprises plurality of layers (3a, 3b, 3c...3n).
10. The FRP composite blank core article (100) as claimed in claim 9, wherein each of the plurality of layers (3, 3a, 3b, ...3n) is one of homogenous GSM and heterogeneous GSM.
