Fine Direct Reduced Irons Containing Iron Carbide And Preparation Apparatus Thereof

Abstract: Disclosed are fine direct reduced irons containing iron carbide and a preparation apparatus thereof. The fine direct reduced irons containing iron carbide of the present invention contains 20 30 wt% of iron carbide by reducing poorly reducible ultrafine ore in a reduction furnace and forming iron carbide on the surface by carbonization in a carbonization furnace. The apparatus for preparing fine direct reduced irons containing iron carbide of the present invention can effectively reduce and carbonize fine iron ore by selectively using hydrogen sulfide contained in a reducing gas in a carbonization furnace and a reduction furnace. The carbon content in fine direct reduced irons is increased by applying fine direct reduced irons containing iron carbide of the present invention thereby improving melting properties and it is possible to reduce fuel costs due to the increase of reduction and melting velocities.

Specification

WHAT IS CALIMED IS
1. Fine direct reduced iron containing iron carbide manufactured by preheating fine iron ores, reducing the fine iron ores in at least one reduction furnace, and carbonizing the reduced fine iron ores in a carbonization furnace, wherein a content of the iron carbide is 20 to 35 weight%.
2. The fine direct reduced iron of claim 1, wherein reduced metal iron (Fe) and the iron carbide are formed on a surface portion of the fine direct reduced iron.
3. An apparatus for manufacturing fine direct reduced iron containing iron carbide, comprising:
a heating furnace for preheating fine iron ores;
at least one reduction furnace for reducing the preheated fine iron ores; and
a carbonization furnace for carbonizing the reduced fine iron ores by using a reducing gas containing externally supplied hydrogen sulfide.
4. The apparatus of claim 3, further comprising a hydrogen sulfide remover for removing the hydrogen sulfide from the reducing gas discharged from the carbonization furnace.
