DESC:FIELD OF INVENTION
The present invention relates to a fixture for dowel puller welding. In particular, the present invention relates to a fixture for dowel puller welding, which is used for removing dowel from the sheet metal dies and body welding fixtured. The present invention also relates to a process for making the die and welding fixture.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Quite often, dowel pin is used for the positioning of die components. The position of the die components is determined by using dowel pin lightly press-fitted in two die components. The diameter of the dowel pin is determined according to the size of the die component, as in case of screws.
A dowel puller is used to remove the dowel from such dies or welding fixtures. There are different sizes of dowels and therefore different dowel pullers are required with different bolt welded to it according to the dowel size.
Conventional dowel puller is made of a rod having a bolt welded at its one of its ends and another end having a circular shape ring with 10 to 12 mm thickness. Bolts of different sizes (according to the dowel size) are required to be welded at one of its ends to remove the dowel from dies and fixtures. The dowels have different tapped hole sizes for pulling according to the dowel diameter.
PRIOR ART
CN103962776A discloses a welding fixture comprising a base, a reference piece, a clamping mechanism set and turnover clamping mechanisms. The reference piece is provided with a reference surface matched with the outer surface of a skin and is hinged to the base, the skin can be connected to the reference surface through at least two sets of positioning hinge pins and positioning pin holes, wherein the positioning hinge pins and the positioning pin holes are matched, one of the positioning hinge pins and the positioning pin holes are formed in the reference piece, and the other of the positioning hinge pins and the positioning pin holes are arranged on the skin. The clamping mechanism set is used for clamping the skin to the reference piece. The turnover clamping mechanisms are used for driving the reference piece to rotate relative to the base and clamping the reference piece fixedly connected with the skin to a framework, so that the corresponding welding surfaces of the skin and the framework can be attached conveniently. By the adoption of a two-pin and one-surface positioning mode, the reference piece is used as a reference system of the framework and used for detecting the assembly dimensions of the skin and the reference piece in the X, Z and Y directions and for judging whether the positioning accuracy between the skin and the reference piece meets the welding process requirements or not. If it meets these requirements, the reference piece is turned over, so that the corresponding welding positions of the skin and the framework can be attached, and therefore, welding and positioning accuracy, positioning efficiency as well as the quality of welding are improved.
CN104308432A discloses a novel welding and positioning tool comprising a bottom plate, a first side plate, a second side plate, two clamping devices and two positioning levers. The first side plate and the second side plate are fixed on the bottom plate and perpendicular to the same, the first side plate is perpendicular to the second side plate, each clamping device comprises a universal joint, a fixed connection rod, a clamping rod and a handle, one end of each universal joint is fixed to the bottom plate while the other end is connected to one end of the corresponding fixed connection rod, the other end of each fixed connection rod is provided with one handle, each clamping rod made of an elastic material is arranged on the corresponding fixed connection rod, and the positioning levers are fixed on the bottom plate. By the novel welding and positioning tool, two angle bars perpendicular to each other can be fixed firmly, not requiring to continue applying the force to the tool after the angle bars are fixed, and the tool cannot move reversely due to elasticity but can still clamp the angle bars firmly. Moreover, the movement is flexible, time can be saved, and the angle bars are fixed quickly.
US4595186A discloses a rotating welding fixture for holding a pipe fitting against a welding table so that socket welds can be fabricated in one continuous operation. A locking dowel is passed into an opening in the fitting and the fitting is locked between the table top and the dowel, so that the entire weld region is fully exposed to the welding rod. The table is rotatably supported in a base, so that the work can be turned past the welding rod, to complete the weld without having to break the weld bead. Rotating welding fixture holds the pipe fitting against a welding table, so that socket welds can be fabricated in one continuous operation.
However, the above mentioned various prior arts disclose various welding fixtures which are not accurate enough, which take longer time for welding and have proven to be unsafe to the operators, while performing such welding operations.
DISADVANTAGES WITH THE PRIOR ART
The conventional method of dowel puller welding leads to the following disadvantages:
- Time required for welding of bolt to dowel puller is high, i.e. about 6 minutes.
- Welding electrode consumption is high.
- Poor quality of welding obtained.
- Mismatched bolt and puller rod concentricity.
- Frequent breakage of the bolts due to this bolt and puller rod mismatch.
- Lower service life of puller due to poor welding quality.
- Unsafe working environment for personnel during welding operations.
- Minimum two persons are required for welding of bolt with dowel puller.
- Product quality is also affected due to eccentricity.
- Method of welding of bolt with dowel puller rod is less accurate.
- High operator skill necessary for such welding of bolt with dowel puller.
To address all these disadvantages of the conventional method taught by the prior art documents and methods, it is the need of the hour to propose and configure an improved fixture for dowel puller welding, which obviates the above disadvantages.
It is also necessary to devise an improved method which considerably increases the accuracy of the process of welding of bolt with the dowel puller rod and also significantly reduces the time for checking thereof.
