Fixture For Electron Beam Welding

Abstract: Holding fixture is used to hold the work piece for electron beam welding machine to neutralize the effect of deformation during Electron Beam Welding operation. To achieve this work piece is attached to the fixture by the rigid clamping. The fixture should also be adapted to use with Electron Beam Welding machine.

FIELD 5 OF THE INVENTION
The present invention states to apparatus for holding and clamping fixture
for miniature work pieces during welding operation and more particularly to
10 accurate positioning and holding of work piece during Electron Beam Welding
operation. This fixture is used to hold the work piece rigidly and accurately on
Electron Beam Welding machine.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Invention of this type of holding fixture required for the rigid clamping &
proper rigid holding of work piece on welding machine during welding operation
in proper position with precision so that the electron beam should fall accurately
at the desired point.

SUMMARY OF PRESENT INVENTION
In accordance with one aspect of present invention is to provide a work
holding fixture for welding machine that facilitates effective clamping of work
25 piece during electron welding operation.
In accordance with second aspect of present invention is to provide an
effective holding of miniature work piece.
In accordance with another aspect of present invention is to provide to
hold the work piece at height.
Annexure‐II
In accordance with yet another aspect of present invention is to provide
accurate positioning of the of work piece on the machine welding area.
In 5 accordance with yet another aspect of present invention is to provide
strong and rigid welding fixture to avoid any deformation during the welding of the
work piece.
In accordance with yet another aspect of present invention is welding
fixture is of proper size to accommodate in the welding area of the machine. It
10 can be easily handle & can easily kept at machine welding area and work piece
can clamped on machine bed with two through holes rigidly on the machine bed.
In accordance with yet another aspect of present invention is welding
fixture is to enable lesser skilled worker to handle the job and performing the
Electron beam welding functions.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
Referring to fig. 1 & fig. 2 present invention is a work holding fixture for
welding machine 7 5 adapted for used on Electron beam Welding machine.
The holding fixture 7 is designed to hold the work piece 8 well positioned
as reference surfaces given on work piece & rigidly for welding operation on work
piece 8. The holding fixture 7 comprise a support 1 having a substantially flat top
10 surface A and bottom surface B, support made of brass , surface B of support 1
rest on machine bed & clamped support 1 through with 2-THR Holes on
machine bed.
Dowel pin 5 and 2 of made of stillness steel Material fixed with base
support 1 to position the work piece 8 to get work piece in proper position with
15 precision for welding. The work piece rest on Surface A of support 1 and Located
by dowel pin 5 and 2, pins are fixed on surface A of support 1 to position the
work piece for reference of electron beam welding operation. Support 1 surfaces
A & B are parallel with in 0.005 mm work piece clamped by 2-Clamp 4 using
dowel pin 6 and Allen screw 3 which is fixed on surface A of support.

Accordingly, the description of the present invention is to be considered as illustrative only and is for the purpose of teaching those skilled in the art of the best mode of carrying out the invention. The details may be varied substantially without departing from the spirit of the invention, and exclusive use of all modifications which are within the scope of the appended claims is reserved. We Claim
1. A work holding fixture for Electron beam welding machine for holding and supporting the work piece and adapted to be positioned on work table of Electron Beam Welding machine. The fixture comprising:
- Support adapted to be coupled to the bed of Electron Beam Welding machine and provides supporting surface to other sub component of fixture. Work piece rest and positioned on the top surface of support.
- A work piece is rigidly coupled to the top surface of the support with two dowel pins.
- Support structure to support for supporting the work piece during the welding operation.
- Clamps provided to hold the work piece at point for holding the work piece using Allen screw and dowel pin at plane during electron beam welding operation.
- Two Clamps provided to hold the work piece at points for holding the work piece at plane during electron beam welding operation.
2. The work holding fixture for electron welding machine of claim 1 wherein, top and bottom surfaces of the base support are substantially parallel and bottom surface of the support is adapted to positioned and clamped on the electron beam welding machine bed.

3. The work holding fixture for electron welding machine of claim 1 wherein, support is having two through holes on support for fixing the fixture on electron beam welding machine bed.
4. The work holding fixture for electron welding machine of claim 1 wherein, comprising two clamping pad for precisely holding the work piece during the welding operations and to avoid any deformation during the welding of the work piece.
5. The work holding fixture for electron welding machine of claim 1 wherein, one dowel pin provided on the top surface of the work piece for accurate positioning of the work piece in predetermined position.
6. The fixture for holding work piece of claim 1 further comprising two clamping pads to hold the work piece accurately at a predetermined.
7. The fixture for holding work piece of claim 1 further comprising Allen head screw for enabling adjustment during the mounting of the work piece. ,TagSPECI:As per Annexure-II
