Fixture For Engine Control Rod Adjustment

Abstract: This method brings into play the basic adjustments of the length to check 6 types of Engine control rods. The length of the control rod depending on the 6 types will be adjusted & set on the fixture where the markings for all the 6 types of rods are done on the fixture. The rod is placed on the fixture such that the two ends of the rods will be inserted into the two pins provided at both ends of the fixture by which the length of the rod will be confirmed & the rod will be tightened accordingly. This will save time & the accuracy of the length adjustment will be achieved

1. Title of the invention
Fixture for engine control rod adjustment.
2. Field of invention
This invention is related to the setting the length of engine control rod. The method involves adjustment of 6 types of engine control rod in one fixture.
3. Use of invention
This invention is used to set the length of 6 types of engine control rod with only one fixture.
4. Prior art
In the previous method the length of the engine control rods were adjusted by using the measuring tape.
5. Draw backs of prior art
The prior method of ensuring the length of the engine control rod was having the following draw backs,
a. The operator would adjust the length by using a measuring tape which
was time consuming.
b. The accuracy of the set length was not constant.
6. Comparison between prior art and present invention
The present method is much faster than previous method. The length of the control rod depending on the 6 types will be adjusted & set on the fixture where the markings are done on the fixture. The rod is placed on the fixture such that the two ends of the rods will be inserted into the two pins provided at both ends of the fixture & the rod will be tightened accordingly. This will save time & the accuracy of the length adjustment will be achieved.

7. Aim of the invention
Aim of the invention was to develop an effective, efficient and prompt method to quickly adjust the length of the engine control rods.
8. Summary of the present invention
The length of the control rod depending on the 6 types will be adjusted & set on the fixture where the markings for all the 6 types of rods are done on the fixture. The rod is placed on the fixture such that the two ends of the rods will be inserted into the two pins provided at both ends of the fixture by which the length of the rod will be confirmed & the rod will be tightened accordingly. This will save time & the accuracy of the length adjustment will be achieved

10. Statement of invention
. This invented method is useful for adjusting the length of 6 types of engine control rods accurately.
11. Detailed description of invention
a) Fixture for engine control rod adjustment is made of a block with a slot at the center. The slot is fitted with a slider which adjusts the length according to the type of rod'.

b) The rod will,be placed onto the fixture .by inserting one end of the rod to the fixed pin & the other end of the rod to the slider pin which is fixed according to the requirement.
c) Once the length is adjusted the lock nut will be tightened to secure the length of the rod. ' --

2. The simple and compact design of the Fixture by which the length of six different engine control rods can be checked.
