DESC:FIELD OF INVENTION:
The present invention relates to flat sheets of bed linen with a hem finish and a method of preparing flat sheets of bed linen with a hem finish. In the present application, without single needle stitch for making hem, hem stitching is sewn with picotting using special folders as guide to make even hem size.
BACKGROUND AND PRIOR ART:
In the prior art, both the 1) hem and 2) mitered corners are stitched using single needle stitch with pattern (or) with folders. Then Picotting is done on face of the product. Here the single needle stitch holds the top hem and picotting is a decorative element. Hence, in the prior art, the picotting stitching was done along the single needle stitch as a guide, if there is any cross or bend in stitching affects the quality of picotting. Therefore, there are many drawbacks in prior art. For example, in the prior art, there are more number of operations required, more laborious, longer time spent and cost involved is high.
Thus, there is a need to develop a method of preparing flat sheets of bed linen with a hem finish which requires less number of operations; less labour required, shorter time required and low cost is involved.
In the present invention, the number of operation and operational cost is reduced upto 22% against conventional method. Here the picotting is sewn using folders and without single needle stitch, the picotting quality and hem size is even / consistent.
The present invention relates to flat sheets of bed linen with a hem finish and a method of preparing thereof. In the present application, without single needle stitch for making hem, hem stitching is sewn with Picotting using special folders as guide to make even hem size. The Picotting machine setting and Gross Beckett needle synchronization are engineered to the fabric ease to sew this functional Italian turn back hem.
In the prior art, operations of manufacturing, cutting for mitered corners was done manually which is very laborious and time consuming.
In comparison, in the present application, the cutting is being done by using an automatic CAM. Here the cut part is programmed on a computer and fed into the machine which reduces time, labour and provides consistent quality.
In the prior art, while stitching the hems the loose threads which protrude through the cut edge is removed by manual trimming and shearing, which too is time consuming and very laborious.
In comparison, in the present application, compressed air is blown through a fine nozzle, fixed close to the sewing area. The protruding threads are blown in to the seam, thereby the manual work of trimming the loose threads is totally eliminated.
In the prior art, the picotting hole and the stitch made in the fabric will reduce the strength of the fabric. The impact is more in case of delicate fabrics.
In comparison, in the present application, an extra thread is reinforced on both sides of the picotting holes. This enhance the strength of fabric in the picotting area and the seam as well. An exclusively designed guide like attachment has been devised and fixed to the sewing machine which help to feed the extra thread uniformly in to the seam.
Thus, in the present invention, the number of operation and operational cost is reduced upto 22% against conventional method. Here, the picotting is sewn using folders and without single needle stitch, the picotting quality and hem size is even / consistent. Therefore, this method requires less labour and saves time.
