The process for introducing such flavour on steel or metallic components is preferably an oil quenching process. said traveller (1) consists a ball bearing steel body (2) covered by a metal plating (3), said Ring traveller is coated with a flavouring agent. Said flavouring agent is in the form of oil or powder and said flavourant is bitter in taste.
DESC:FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to Ring travellers used in spinning machines. Particularly, the present invention relates to a flavoured Ring Traveller and a process to obtain desired flavour on the ring travellers. The process for introducing such flavour on steel or metallic components is preferably an oil quenching process.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Ring Travellers are most commonly used in the Ring spinning and doubling machines for twisting the fibres and winding the yarn on the bobbins. The Travellers are inserted in the Ring using tools or by manually. Presently, most of the spinning mill operators insert the Travellers using their hands. During normal running, the Travellers may fly out of the Rings due to various reasons such as excessive wear, deformation, increased yarn tension etc,. At this point of time, the operators have to insert the traveller into the Ring manually.
The main problem in this manual insertion process is, availability of travellers. The operators cannot carry the travellers in their hands as it affect their working method. They may carry the travellers in their packets of work clothing, but it is difficult to find inside the packet as the size of travellers are very tiny. There are trays mounted in the spinning machines to store the reserve travellers. But, the operators have to move to the storage tray area from the place where the traveller is flyout already. This is a time consuming process which shall result in production loss and increment of waste.
To overcome this problem, most of the operators may carry the travellers in their mouths. Holding the travellers inside the mouth is a bad work practice and normally it is not accepted by any of the industrial work practice. As the Travellers are very small in size, there are chances that the operator may unknowingly swallow the Travellers. If it is swallowed, it may affect the internal organs and create injuries. Also, the traveller for spinning is made of hard drawn steel wire or alloy steel wire. The outer layer consists of one or plural layers selected from a layer of carbide, nitride, oxide, boride or the like hazardous chemicals and steel elements. If it is consumed by the human, it may affect their health.
There are various coating techniques available in the existing art to introduce different flavours in the edible products including pharmaceutical products such as medicines. Some of the polymer and rubber products are coated with flavoured materials. But, there are no steel and Metallic products available which are coated with flavour based materials.
There are also various oil quenching techniques with edible vegetable oils are available in the existing art. But, there are no oil quenching process to introduce flavours on the steel and metallic products. Therefore, the present invention provides a process to enable desired flavour in the Ring Travellers which are used in the Ring spinning and doubling machines.
OBJECTIVE OF THE INVENTION
The main objective of the present invention is to provide a process to apply desired flavour on the surface of Ring Travellers.
Another objective of the present invention is to provide Ring traveller with desirable taste preferably a bitter taste.
Still another objective of the present invention is to create an oil quenching OR coating process to apply flavour on the steel products such as Ring Travellers.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The following presents a simplified summary of the invention in order to provide a basic understanding of some aspects of the invention. This summary is not an extensive overview of the present invention. It is not intended to identify the key/critical elements of the invention or to delineate the scope of the invention. Its sole purpose is to present some concept of the invention in a simplified form as a prelude to a more detailed description of the invention presented later.
According to the main aspect of the present invention, the Ring Traveller which consists a ball bearing steel body covered by a metal plating is a flavoured Ring traveller and characterized in that, said Ring traveller is coated with a flavouring agent and said flavouring agent is in the form of oil or powder. The flavour is preferably bitter in taste.
According to the main embodiment of the present invention, the process involved in adding the flavour is preferably oil quenching process. Said quenching process is done with the quenchant fast oils and 2 to 10 percentage of vegetable oil is included along with said fast oils during quenching process. Said flavouring agent oil is added during quenching process through quenchant. The flavouring agent is a vegetable oil such as neem oil which are extracted from Azadirachta indica plant or an organic compound such as benzaldehyde extracted from bitter almond.
According to another embodiment of the present invention the flavouring agent is in powder form and said powder is added after plating the Travellers through powder coating process. Said flavouring agent powder is made from edible ingredients such as plants, vegetable or vegetable seeds and the size of said powder particles is less than 100 nanometres (nm) in diameter.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
Fig – 1 depicts a ring traveller known in the existing art.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Describing now the drawing, it is to be understood that only enough of the construction of the ring spinning machine, and specifically the roving guide with the associated creel have been depicted therein, in order to simplify the illustration, as needed for those skilled in the art to readily understand the underlying principles and concepts of the present invention.
The following description with reference to the accompanying drawings is provided to assist in a comprehensive understanding of exemplary embodiments of the invention as defined by the claims and their equivalents. It includes various specific details to assist in that understanding but these are to be regarded as merely exemplary. Accordingly, those of ordinary skill in the art will recognize that various changes and modifications of the embodiments described herein can be made without departing from the scope and sprit of the invention. In addition, descriptions of well-known functions and constructions are omitted for clarity and conciseness.
Features that are described and/or illustrated with respect to one embodiment may be used in the same way or in a similar way in one or more other embodiments and/or in combination with instead of the features of the other embodiments.
Figure 1 shows a Ring traveller known in the existing art. The Ring traveller (1) consists a body (2) made up of ball bearing steel and the surface is covered with a metal plating (3). In the Traveller manufacturing process, the ball bearing steel wires used for producing Travellers are fed to the Rolling process to attain the desired profile. After Rolling, the wires are moved to bending machines where the Travellers are cut into pieces and bent to form the shape of a Traveller. After bending, the Travellers are collected and subjected to scoring and polishing process. After scoring and polishing, the Travellers are hardened by heat treatment process. After heat treatment, the Travellers are immersed in the hot oils for quenching. After quenching, the Travellers are coated with desired surface coating material. The coating process shall either be Electroplating or Electroless coating.
According to the main aspect of the present invention, the addition of flavour in the Ring traveller is done during oil quenching process. This is invention is aimed to convert a quenchant into a flavourant. Quenching process is preferably done with the quenchant such as vegetable oil. Along with existing quenching oil such as fast or hot oil, certain amount of vegetable oil is included. For example, 2 to 10 percentage of vegetable oil is included in the quenching process. The vegetable oil is preferably a neem oil which are extracted from Azadirachta indica plant and said oil acts as a flavourant with bitter taste. Alternatively, organic compound such as benzaldehyde extracted from bitter almond shall also be added as a flavouring agent.
According to another embodiment of the invention, addition of flavouring agent shall also be done after the plating or coating process. Said flavouring agent shall be in the form of powder. External powder spray techniques shall be used to coat the powder form of flavouring agents on the travellers before packing the travellers. Said powders are preferably made from edible ingredients, plants, vegetable or vegetable seeds. The powders are made as nano particles preferably less than 100 nanometres (nm) in diameter.
The flavoured ring traveller helps to eliminate the bad work practice like storing the Traveller in mouth part. This helps in eliminating the rust formation on the surface of the traveller and also saves the health of the workers. ,CLAIMS:WE CLAIM:
